2007 Outlook
The introduction of Terrell Owens naturally forced the expectations of Glenn down last year but by the end of the year, he only dropped from 1136 yards to 1047 yards in 2007. His touchdown total only fell to 6 from 7 scores. Owens did not rob Glenn so much as merely added a lot more to the Dallas passing game. Glenn comes off his second best season as a Cowboy and his 70 catches last year were his highest in the last seven seasons.
Glenn turns 33 this summer so a downturn would be expected soon but 2007 should be every bit as productive as 2006 with virtually the exact same offense returning. Glenn will never overtake Owens in being the primary target, but he remains a very integral part of the passing equation on a team that will have a tougher schedule in 2007 and that will need to pass no less than last year.
08-31-07 Update: Glenn's knee is still an issue and he may not be ready by week one. At his age, healing quickly just doesn't happen anymore.
Recent Priority News
06/28/08
The Dallas Morning News reports Dallas Cowboys WR Terry Glenn is speaking with team owner Jerry Jones again in hopes of returning. 'Terry is someone I have a lot of interest in,' Jones said Friday, June 27. 'We worked well together last year. We will sit down here and look at how he fits and what we can do with him as a player this year.' Jones added he hopes to settle the Glenn situation by training camp, which would end the team's search to add another veteran receiver.
Huddle Up: The main question here is not if Glenn will return to the Cowboys but when he will return to the Cowboys. Owner Jerry Jones obviously wants Glenn to remain in Dallas but at a substantially lower rate than last season and with the assurance of an injury settlement in case the receiver can't return to the field or misses an extended amount of time. Fantasy owners should continue to steer clear of Glenn in Dallas unless he is given the green light to play and can prove he can contribute something on the field in training camp.

ESPN.com reports Dallas Cowboys WR Terry Glenn is not expected to be on hand at the team's minicamp, according to the Fort Worth Star-Telegram. Glenn did not undergo a physical Monday, June 16, at Valley Ranch as he and the Cowboys continue to lock horns over an injury settlement. 'Haven't been there! Y would have anything changed!!,' Glenn wrote via text message, according to the Star-Telegram.
Huddle Up: The situation with Glenn and the Cowboys appears to be deteriorating further with Dallas and could lead to problems with him remaining with the Cowboys. It is hard to imagine Glenn not agreeing to an injury settlement since he would be hard-pressed to land with another team in light of his current injury status. Fantasy owners should not even think about drafting Glenn in any fantasy league at the present time.
06/17/08
Updating a previous report, ESPN.com reports Dallas Cowboys WR Terry Glenn (knee) told ESPN's Ed Werder that he wants to be released from the team if owner Jerry Jones continues to ban him from participating in the team's offseason workouts unless Glenn signs an injury waiver reducing his salary to $500,000.
Huddle Up: As stated earlier the tensions are escalating in Dallas and it appears Glenn will come out on the short end of this deal. Glenn's best days are behind him in both fantasy football and with an NFL team and he is likely to find that out soon if he decides not to take the injury settlement offered by Dallas.
06/04/08
Injured wide receiver Terry Glenn is in a heated negotiation with the Dallas Cowboys over accepting a $500,000 injury settlement in case the wideout is unable to return to the field this year. Glenn was sidelined for all but four plays last year with an injured right knee that required two seperate surgeries. At the present time Glenn has still not passed a physical allowing him to return to action which is leading to the negotitions over the injury settlement. "It would surprise me if everything doesn't get worked out," owner Jerry Jones said.
Huddle Up: It is becoming more apparent that Dallas may once again be without the services of Terry Glenn in the Cowboys offense. Fantasy owners should watch this develop in training camp and preseason and consider Glenn undraftable until he proves he will make an impact on the field this season. Look for Dallas to utilize Patrick Crayton and Sam Hurd opposite Terrell Owens on the field in 2008.
01/10/08
WR Terry Glenn, who has missed most of the regular season due to two knee surgeries, participated in his most complete practice since early in the year and is expected to see an increased role against the New York Giants. "He wasn't starting and doing every play, but he did quite a few plays and ran quite a few routes," coach Phillips said. "I'm somewhat encouraged there. ... Whatever you get from Terry is a bonus certainly. He's a very good player that's been hurt and has tried to come back and has made a valiant effort and I think he may be able to play."
Huddle Up: If Glenn does indeed take on a prominent role this week it will take some of the focus off of Terrell Owens who is trying to return to action after suffering a high ankle sprain. Both Dallas receivers should see action but how effective they will be remains to be seen.
12/28/07
Glenn is expected to finally make his 2007 debut in the regular season finale against Washington. Two knee surgeries have sidelined Glenn all season.
Huddle Up: The natural reaction would be to expect Glenn to post big numbers as the Cowboys' No. 1 receiver this week, since Terrell Owens won't play. But it will probably take Glenn a game or two to fully get up to speed, so don't expect great things against the Redskins - especially since Tony Romo will probably play no more than the first half.
