2007 Outlook

Just when it appeared that Harrison was slowing down, he turns in 95 catches for 1366 yards and 12 touchdowns last season – 2nd in both the NFL in yardage and receiving touchdowns. Harrison has not been under 10 touchdowns per year since 1999 and though he turns 34 this season, it does not appear he is ready to slow down quite yet. He had six 100 yard games and scored multiple touchdowns in four match-ups. As long as Peyton Manning is on the other end of the pass, Harrison remains one of the most consistently productive wideouts for the last eight years and has never missed more than one game in any season during that time.

Recent Priority News

07/09/08
Espn.com reports that Indianpolis Colts receiver Marvin Harrision is expected to be ready for the start of the NFL regular season. Coach Tony Dungy had this to say, "Right before we closed out our OTAs he was there and he was running." "For the first time in a long time I saw a smile on his face because he was running pain free. So we feel good about where he's going to be physically opening up this year. Everything we've heard and communicated from the Philadelphia police department, he's not a suspect in what's going on there. So again, we feel pretty good about where he's going to be."
Huddle Up: All good news out of Indianapolis for the Colts veteran All-Pro receiver who was limited due to injuries in 2007. If Harrison indeed has no setbacks and returns to the field look for him to be a quality No. 3 receiver with upside to be a No. 2 wideout if he can remain on the field for the Colts. He is one of the best possession receivers in the game and could be a solid late round pick in fantasy drafts with most unaware owners passing him over.

06/16/08
The Indianapolis Star reports Indianapolis Colts WR Marvin Harrison (knee) could open the 2009 season on the Physically Unable to Perform list until he gets "full go" medical clearance.
Huddle Up: Not very good news for the Colts veteran wideout. Fantasy owners should keep in mind that there has definately been a changing of the guard in Indy as WR Reggie Wayne should now be considered the primary target in the Colts offense. If Harrison lands on the PUP list as suspected then look for receiver Anthony Gonzalez to step up opposite Wayne in the Colts powerful passing game this year.

12/28/07
Harrison, who has missed 10 games this season, participated in full practice on Thursday and may see limited work against the Titans on Sunday night.
Huddle Up: While Harrison will probably not be a big factor, his return may mean that Peyton Manning will play longer than expected in order to work on his timing with No. 88.

12/01/07
According to coach Tony Dungy wide receiver Marvin Harrison is considered "very questionable" for the Colts Week 13 game against the Jacksonville Jaguars. Harrison did not practice on Friday and has been out for several weeks with a knee injury.
Huddle Up: It is beginning to appear that Harrison may indeed be out even longer as he tries to recover from a knee injury that has forced him out of a good portion of the Colts season. Fantasy owners should bench Harrison and consider Anthony Gonzalez as he will get playing time in Marvin Harrison's absence. The Colts could rest Harrison for the rest of the regular season which is a likely scenario.

11/20/07
Colts GM Bill Polian gave an update on the condition of Marvin Harrison's injured left knee, describing it as a "minor sprain" along with a "pretty big blow" to the bursa sac. Harrison continues to have inflammation in the knee and the Colts feel rest is what is required at this point.
Huddle Up: The Colts play on Thursday and with the short week, Harrison is not expected to play against Atlanta. Rookie Anthony Gonzalez is expected back this week and would likely start for Harrison as Aaron Moorehead may be limited due to a back injury.

11/10/07
Marvin Harrison remains questionable to play against the Chargers this week and has been limited in all practices. He will likely be a game time decision and since this is the late Sunday evening game, fantasy owners would have few other options if he is inactive.
Huddle Up: Harrison wouldn't be healthy this week anyway so expect him to ride the pine. The Colts will also be without Anthony Gonzalez and even Dallas Clark has been limited this week with his concussion. Aaron Moorehead will replace Harrison this week if he cannot play.
