Other Positions: Quarterbacks | Running Backs | Wide Receivers
In all positions, size does matter to at least some degree. Obviously talent is critical but without the size to play in the NFL - does it really matter how fast a player is or how well he can pass the ball? The intent of these positional reviews is to arm yourself with the conventional wisdom about fantasy positions and typically what is successful. There are always exceptions to every rule, but it is nice to know the rule in the first place. There is a surprising amount of consistency in the measureables of star players.

Height: The average height went down in 2009 but is back above six foot once again. Only one top ten receiver came in under that mark.
Weight:The bigger wideouts faded a little last year with several lighter (and younger) players stepping up. Still, it is far more prototypical to see over 200 pounds here.
Age/Experience: There were several new players into the top ten last year with Austin, Jackson and Rice and that held down the average age.We're seeing a slow changing of the guard with players with Terrell Owens out and it makes Randy Moss suddenly seem out of place. Even Reggie Wayne is no longer a young player.
