In case you ever wondered what the teams look like from the writers that you follow, The Huddle is providing the teams that resulted from drafts and auctions that some of our staff have provided. It's one thing to say we like or do not like certain players, but proof is in the pudding so take a gander at what happened when we got up to the plate over the last month or so.

Comments About Draft: This means your highest scorers in each position are who count for that particular week. Performance scoring but no PPR means receivers are less important but QB’s score more than any position. Went for a “top dog” in each position and then filled in with a diverse group of young upside guys and veterans who always get at least some points each week.

Comments About Draft: I love this team. I love the wideouts who are all my sleeper types and my RB’s were looking very good until Bush broke his thumb. Plus I have Drew Brees.

Comments About Draft: The league went nuts on spending for top stars so I held back and went for a complete team. Like my running backs and my wideouts all have upside. QB’s do not score that much in this scoring so I held back and took Kolb to save money.

Comments About Draft: I had the seventh overall pick in the draft. Considered Aaron Rodgers but reached for Ryan Mathews instead. Was fortunate that Michael Turner dropped to me in Round 2. Strategy was to get an edge in my backfield and it worked. I will be able to start 3 upper eschelon RBs each week. WR position didn't suffer from emphasis on RBs. Ended up getting four proven, playable wideouts. Also snagged some upside rookie WRs in Bryant and Williams. Kolb was my eighth rated QB and I was fortunate he slipped to me in Round 9. Delaying the QB position allowed me to establish a deep roster. In a 10-team league there's plenty left on the waiver wire should Kolb struggle.

John Tuvey

14 team auction league, PPR scoring
Start 1QB 2RB 2WR 1TE 1PK 1DF

QB-Matt Schaub
RB-Ahmad Bradshaw
RB-Michael Bush
RB-LeSean McCoy
RB-Darren McFadden
RB-Clinton Portis
WR-Marques Colston
WR-Devin Hester
WR-Vincent Jackson
WR-Mike Thomas
WR-Reggie Wayne
TE-Dustin Keller
PK-Stephen Gostkowski

Comments About Draft: I almost always go WR heavy in this league as the RB prices don't yield value. Schaub was too good of a value to pass up at $10 on a $100 cap (Rodgers/Brees/Manning were all nearly twice that). I spent a total of about $40 on those backs and figure I can cobble together two or three starters each week; it's a format that has worked for me in the past. I had a little extra left at the end so went $2 on Vincent Jackson; it was going to be a guy that likely gets cut anyway, so why not take a shot he'll get traded and turn out to be a quality WR2 or maybe even WR1?

12 team auction league, TD-only scoring with bonuses for 50+ yard TDs
Start 1QB 2RB 2WR 1TE 1PK 1DF

QB-Tony Romo
RB-Jamaal Charles
RB-Shonn Greene
RB-Thomas Jones
RB-Knowshon Moreno
RB-LaDainian Tomlinson
WR-Calvin Johnson
WR-Johnny Knox
WR-Steve CAR Smith
TE-Zach Miller
PK-Lawrence Tynes
Def- Steelers

Comments About Draft: A completely different approach to a completely different scoring system from my other leagues. QBs, TEs, Ks, and Ds all tend to go for higher than in other leagues, so I picked QB to spend money and threw a buck at the other spots. I was hoping for Brady or Schaub but settled for Romo for $4-$6 less (on a $120 cap). The plan was to secure the Jets' rushing TDs for the year, which I did for less than $30 (for comparison, Frank Gore went for $29), but then the Chiefs' backfield fell into my lap for a total of $12 and Moreno was only $10. I waited a little too long on WRs and overpaid slightly for Megatron ($29; had I acted earlier I could have had Wayne instead); Smith at $12 was a bargain but Nicks commanded a little too much as the last Tier 2 WR on the board so I settled for Knox at a discount. This team looks dramatically different than all my other teams but fits the unique old-school scoring format.

16 teams, PPR/performance scoring
Start 1QB 2RB 2WR 1TE 1PK 1DF

QB-Carson Palmer

RB-C.J. Spiller
WR-Anthony Gonzalez
WR-Mike Thomas
WR-Reggie Wayne
WR-Roddy White
TE-Zach Miller
PK-Garrett Hartley
Def- Eagles

Comments About Draft: Picking 11 out of 16 lends itself to WR/WR, a format I'm entirely comfortable with. And that, of course, sets you up for picking through the mid-level backs. I expected to get Leon Washington in this league as well, but it was a slow draft during the course of which he returned, looked good in a preseason game, and was rumored to be the starter; so much for that sleeper.

Comments About Draft: Picking #4 led to getting MoJo, then couldn't pass up Manning. As a result, this is my one team where I had to scramble for WR help; I did get some guys I like and my two favorite sleepers who'd better come through. Hasselbeck ends up on my teams a lot because you can get him late and my starters' byes happen to fall when he has softer match-ups.

Comments About Draft: Sixth pick, opted for Andre over Turner, then got Wayne coming back (Fitz and Moss only two non-RBs taken). Even after going for a QB and TE early I'm happy with my backs; Thomas in R3 and Addai in R6. I was able to back up Forsett with Washington (or vice versa) and also get my favorite WR sleepers in MThomas and Hester.

Coach-Rex Ryan

Comments About Draft: At 8 overall I had to take either a QB or WR with the stud RBs gone. As Andre Johnson was gone and with touchdowns for QBs counting 6-9 based on distance, had to go with Brees here. It worked out well for me because I was able to get an awesome quartet of RBs in Greene, McCoy, Best and Foster later on. My receiver corps will hurt me a bit, and I really goofed with the Britt pick at 65, but was running two drafts as commissioner at the same time, so had very little time to think so chalk it up to that. I love Young as my back up, think Robinson, Williams and Camarillo have great sleeper potential, and am happy with Celek and Bowe starters with Gaffney to support. Bironas is a steal in the last round due to his lengthy kicks, which are worth bonus points in our league.

Comments About Draft: Picked out of the #3 spot so obviously landed MJD. Had planned all along to go WR-WR next but after taking White in round 2 Charles dropped to me so I couldn't pass him up in PPR scoring. Landed our #1 TE, Davis, next and was thankful Schaub fell to me in the 5th round (his ADP has him going in the 3rd). Got guys I wanted in the next two picks, Maclin and Bradshaw. But REALLY wanted Michael Bush with my 8.10 pick but he was taken the pick before me. So I settled on Garcon. The disappointment threw me off my game so I made my one mistake at 9.03 with I picked Cotchery. Should have taken Gaffney. The rest of the key position picks were just filling depth, but was very pleased betting Henne in the 11th round as my #2 QB.

Comments About Draft: Picked out of the #11 spot, which means you typically have to reach for players that you want at the swings. My first hard decision was at 1.11 when Rodgers was still available. I've NEVER taken a QB in round one, so this was a mind bender for me. But pulled the trigger and went forward. Landed Addai and Foster in the 3-4 swing. Might seem high for Foster, but this draft was right after his big game and his stock is rising. I liked him a lot before that game anyway and have visions of TD in Denver. Grabbed Davis again at the 5.11 and was pleased to get Bush at 6.02. Got two solid but unsexy WR's at the 7-8 swing, Gaffney and Evans, then got another potential starting RB, Hardesty, as my #4RB and starter Robinson as my #3-#4WR. The rest of the draft was just filling depth and getting a late DF and PK. With only 7 on the bench in this league I chose not to back up Rodgers after Orton was taken just before I planned on picking him up (plays KC at home during Rodgers bye). Aaron doesn't have a bye until week 10 and I can easily find a backup for that week by then.
