Darren McFadden Raiders –
Yes, Michael Bush is back, but as long as Run DMc is playing this well it'll be tough to take carries away from him. In fact, heading into Week 4 only Chris Johnson has touched the ball more than McFadden and only Adrian Peterson and Aquarian Foster have more yards from scrimmage.
LaDainian Tomlinson, Jets –
Maybe there's some gas left in the tank after all. It doesn't hurt running behind one of the better offensive lines in the league, but Tomlinson is making his growing share of Gang Green's backfield workload into more than just padding for his HOF resume.
Peyton Hillis, Browns –
It's one thing to take over the bulk of the carries on a bad offense; it's another thing entirely to take that role and turn it into a 122-yard, one-TD game against the Ravens. Of course, you know Eric Mangini and the Browns will find a way to screw this up; they always do..
Clinton Portis, Redskins –
You had to know it was just a matter of time before the Shanahanigans started up in Washington. Last week both Ryan Torain and Keiland Williams saw action in Portis' place; who will it be next? Mike Anderson? Olandis Gary? Tatum Bell, please pick up the burgundy courtesy phone...
Carnell Williams, Buccaneers –
What has Caddy's fantasy value pointed in the wrong direction? Take your pick: an abysmal 2.5 yards per carry, an underachieving offensive line, or the prospect of LeGarrette Blount joining Kareem Huggins in the growing group of Bucs backs looking to take touches away from Williams.
Kenneth Darby, Rams –
Turns out the Rams didn't need to go looking for a backup to Steven Jackson; they had one on their roster all along. With Jackson out of the lineup the Rams reached into their wishing well and found Darby, who was more than adequate in relief and will head up the committee should Jackson's groin injury linger. Jackson owners and those in need of a backfield band aid, sign your name for Darby on this week's waiver wire.
