Prediction: TEN 17, DAL 24

The Titans dropped to 2-2 when they lost to the visiting Broncos but that could have been related to a hangover from the win in New York over the Giants the previous week. The Cowboys come off their bye rested and hoping to string a second win together after finally beating the Texans in week three. The difference here is the Cowboys defense at home against a team that cannot pass well.

Titans Report | Statistics | Roster
TENNESSEE at DAL Rush Catch Pass
QB Vince Young 10 - 170,1
RB Chris Johnson 90,1 10 -
TE Bo Scaife - 30 -
WR Nate Washington - 50 -
WR Kenny Britt - 50,1 -
PK Rob Bironas 1 FG 2 XP -
Pregame Notes: Chris Johnson owners had to endure a second bad game from the star runner last week and the struggles in the passing game come home to roost when the Titans fall behind while Chris Johnson is being bottled up (rare as it seems). This year is a much tougher schedule than 2009 that is being made further challenging when Johnson is not completely dominating opponents. This is only the second time the Titans have played on the road this season.

QUARTERBACK: The nice thing about Vince Young is that if you only need him to throw for 100 yards in a game, he'll get you 150. Of course if you need 300 yards, he'll still give you 150. Young has not passed more than 28 times in a game this year but he'll need to bump that up if Johnson is going to limit himself to a big game every other week.

The Cowboys have allowed three scores and 277 pass yards to the visiting Broncos but they are a near opposite to the Titans team. There is a chance for a score here but the yardage will remain low.

RUNNING BACKS: Chris Johnson has been scoring twice and turning in 125+ yards every other week which included the only road game and he is due for another big game if trends mean anything (and they really don't like this). Both the Steelers and Broncos held Johnson at bay but expect no more than a moderate showing this week. The Cowboys have not allowed a rushing touchdown this year and have played against the run very well.

You are going to start Johnson regardless, but he should have lower fantasy points again this week unless he can break that signature long run for a score. Johnson should take well to the carpet in Dallas but only with his first "medium" game of the season.

WIDE RECEIVERS: This is a lackluster group though they have produced four touchdowns already this year. Justin Gage has a serious hamstring issue and is expected to miss several weeks. That promotes Kenny Britt up as a starter and gives him the more advantageous matchup against the Cowboys secondary. Britt has scored in each of the last two games though his yardage has remained below 45 yards each time. Nate Washington opened the year with two scores but has been kept under check by opponents since week two. Champ Bailey covered him last week and held him to only 42 yards.

Missing Gage is not going to help and the Cowboys secondary at home is better than most. I like the one passing score to end up with a wide receiver which has to be either Washington or Britt. Hard to imagine Britt could get three scores in a row but he is in the more favored position.

TIGHT ENDS: The Titan never use Scaife for more than two or three small catches per week and no scores since week one. He carries no more fantasy value this week.

Cowboys Report | Statistics | Roster
DALLAS vs TEN Rush Catch Pass
QB Tony Romo - - 310,2
RB Marion Barber 40,1 - -
RB Felix Jones 30 10 -
TE Jason Witten - 50 -
WR Roy Williams - 50 -
WR Dez Bryant - 70,1 -
WR Miles Austin - 120,1 -
PK David Buehler 1 FG 3 XP -

Pregame Notes: The Cowboys turned around a quickly falling season when they beat the Texans in Houston before the bye week. Now trailing the rest of the division, the Cowboys need to establish if that offense that finally showed up was a sign of improvement or more related to the Texans secondary that has hardly been stellar every week. At least the Cowboys have been preparing for this game for two weeks and come in rested and at home.

QUARTERBACK: Tony Romo has thrown for at least one score in every game and his only home stand produce a season best 374 yards against the visiting Bears. While the scoring could be more with just five touchdowns in three games, Romo has only passed for two interceptions and been sacked just once.

The Titans have been good against quarterbacks statistically thanks to facing Jason Campbell and Dennis Dixon but both Eli Manning and Kyle Orton posted 340+ yards on them with the Broncos throwing for two scores. Expect healthy yardage this week and those two scores with a chance for a third.

RUNNING BACKS: The mishmash of backs in the Dallas backfield have only managed one touchdown this year and since almost none get more than ten carries per game, there is really no fantasy value from this bunch. Felix Jones has been held to eight carries or less each week with minimal results. Marion Barber has a high of 55 yards on the season. Tashard Choice has been almost entirely phased out.

The Titans have been solid against running backs but only played away from home once when Ahmad Bradshaw gained 88 yards on 15 carries and one touchdown. The yardage is going to be marginal as it is every week but there is a chance for one rushing score that would likely end up with Barber.

WIDE RECEIVERS: Dez Bryant suffered a stress fracture in his ribs back in week three but has been cleared to play and has already returned to practice. Bryant has been chugging along with around 50 yards in every game and needs a breakout performance at some point. Roy Williams was the big star in the win over the Texans when he had five catches for 117 yards and two touchdowns. Miles Austin had back-to-back ten catch, 140+ yard games but was held to only two receptions by the Texans while Williams was having his big day.

This secondary is not as good as the ranking suggests. The last two weeks there have been three wideouts with over 100 yards against the Titans. Austin should be a lock for a big game here but this could be a nice spot for Bryant's first score as well.

TIGHT ENDS: Jason Witten has an MCL sprain from week three that has prevented him from practicing but he's always been a warrior who does not miss games. I am assuming that he can play without any real limitation and update if warranted. Witten still has yet to score or have more than 56 yards in a game.
