This is a brief recap of the injuries occurring during Sunday's games. A complete in-depth injury report will be published on Tuesday.
Antonio Gates, TE, SD – Sprained Toe
Gates appeared to aggravate his toe injury in the first half on Sunday and he missed several plays as a result. He looked better in the second half, but he will probably be limited in practice as the team prepares for its next game.
Max Hall, QB, ARI - Concussion
Hall was pulled from the game Sunday after taking a blow to the head. It is believed that he suffered a concussion, but further tests will be run on Monday to determine if that is indeed the case.
Steven Jackson, RB, STL – Undisclosed Neck Injury
Jackson briefly left Sunday’s game after taking a shot to the neck, but he returned and had a good statistical day. The nature of the injury is unknown, but it looks like he will be fine for Week 8.
Louis Murphy, WR, OAK - Undisclosed Head / Neck Injury
Murphy was shaken up and left the game in the third quarter and did not return. Early reports indicate he re-injured his clavicle, but he'll be evaluated further on Monday to determine the severity of the injury and his playing status for week 8.
Alex Smith, QB, SF – Severe AC Joint Sprain
Smith left Sunday’s game after suffering what is being called a severe AC joint sprain (shoulder separation). The injury is to his left (non-throwing) shoulder, but there is concern that he could be out for a significant amount of time. He is scheduled to have an MRI on Tuesday.
Steve Smith, WR, CAR – Leg Cramps
Smith was in and out of the lineup in the second half on Sunday because of leg cramps. He was reportedly sore after the game, but team officials expect him to be OK.
DeAngello Williams, RB, CAR – Undisclosed Foot Injury
Williams injured his foot in the fourth quarter of Sunday’s game. According to reports the injury is not believed to be serious, however the exact nature of the problem and his status for the team’s next game are unknown.
