This is a brief recap of the injuries occurring during Sunday's games. A complete in-depth injury report will be published on Tuesday.
Nnamdi Asomugha, DB, OAK – Undisclosed Ankle Injury
Asomugha left Sunday’s game in the fourth quarter with what is being called a significant ankle injury and did not return. The nature of the injury is unknown, but according to reports it looks serious. He is scheduled to undergo an MRI on Monday.
Kenny Britt, WR, TEN – Strained Hamstring
Britt left Sunday’s game with a strained hamstring and did not return. The team has a bye in Week 9 so he has time to recover. Hopefully it isn’t serious.
Vernon Davis, TE, SF – Sprained Ankle
Davis left Sunday’s game after aggravating his ankle sprain and did not return. His status for the team’s next game in two weeks is currently unknown.
Donald Driver, WR, GB – Strained Quadriceps
Driver aggravated his quadriceps injury on Sunday and he was unable to finish the game. The severity of the injury and his status for Week 9 are unknown.
Brett Favre, QB, MIN – Chin Laceration
Favre was knocked out of Sunday’s game after taking a shot to the chin in the second half. He was carted to the locker room where he was examined and X-rayed. The team says he has a lacerated chin, however there are concerns that Favre suffered additional damage to his chin and head.
Percy Harvin, WR, MIN - Ankle Injury
Harvin had to leave the game Sunday due to an apparent ankle injury. He was able to return and finish out the game, but had a noticeable limp following the game. The extent of the injury and his status for next week is unknown.
Felix Jones, RB, DAL – Undisclosed Forearm Injury
Jones was taken to the locker room for X-rays after hurting his forearm in the first half. X-rays were reportedly negative and he later returned. The injury does not appear to be serious, but his status for the team’s next game is unknown.
Ryan Mathews, RB, SD – Facial Laceration
Mathews left Sunday’s game in the third quarter with a laceration in his face, but he later returned with a protective visor. This looks like a superficial injury and it shouldn’t affect his status for the team’s next game.
Ryan Torain, RB, WAS - Hamstring Injury
Torain was injured in the second half of the Redskins' Sunday loss and had to leave the game. He will be examined further on Monday to determine the severity of the injury and his playing status for the Redskins' next game.
Mike Williams, WR, SEA – Undisclosed Knee Injury
Williams missed a couple of plays in the third quarter because of a knee injury. He was able to finish the game, but he was held to just one catch. The nature of the injury and his status for the team’s next game are unknown.
Vince Young, QB, TEN – Undisclosed Foot/Ankle Injury
Young had to leave Sunday’s game with an undisclosed foot or ankle injury. Since there was no contact on the play that he got hurt there is speculation that the injury could be to his Achilles tendon. We’ll know more after the MRI on Monday.
