Welcome to another edition of The Huddle’s IDP Sleeper Report. The following IDPs were found on either a 12 or 16 IDP league’s waiver wire. Good luck this season and feel free to email me at huddledarin@yahoo.com if you want to suggest a player or discuss my picks. Good luck this season!
LINEBACKERS
Matt Roth (MIA): Roth knows the Miami offense and should tally 4-5 solos this week, and could build on his 2-game sack streak.
Julian Peterson (DET): Yes, he only has one sack on the season, but Peterson has shown a penchant for getting to the opposing QB, and we all know how easily sacking Jay Cutler has been this season. Should be a busy game for the Lion IDPs.
Other to Consider: Jason Hunter (DEN)
DEFENSIVE LINEMEN
Wallace Gilberry (DE – KCC): The Chiefs’ front seven will try getting to Denver QB Kyle Orton as much as possible Sunday. Gilberry has been a surprisingly effective pass rusher for the Chiefs. Do the math.
Junior Siavii (DT – SEA): With Colin Cole (who’s having a solid season) likely out again, the ex-Duck veteran will man the middle for the Seahawk front line. Should be a productive day for the Seahawk D facing a weak Carolina offense.
Other to Consider: Israel Idonije (CHI)
DEFENSIVE BACKS
Greg Toler (CB – ARI): He’s likely not on dynasty leagues’ waiver wire, but could have been dropped in shallower leagues or those that combine CB and S into “DB”. You’ll likely want Toler back in your lineup this week, as he was solid against the Rams in their first meeting.
Jarius Byrd (S – BUF): The Byrd Man is back, folks! He was a breakout stud last season, and while he hasn’t done all too much this year, he may be heating up after a 22-point effort against the Steelers. Good matchup here this week against the Vikes.
Other to Consider: Brent Grimes (ATL)
Week 12 Results
LINEBACKERS
Kavell Conner (IND): 7 solos and 3 assists, not bad. Definitely worth a look with the Colt LB corps totally wrecked.
Joe Mays (DEN): 13 fantasy points in most leagues last week. Don’t expect that to continue with D.J. Williams due back, but you never know.
Channing Crowder (MIA): A balky knee rendered ol’ Channing useless last week.
DEFENSIVE LINEMEN
Darryl Tapp (DE – PHI): Well yuck. He’s been disappointing.
Jeremy Mincey (DT – JAC): I won’t “mince” words: I like this guy. He had a quiet week last week, but the prior two were a glimpse into what he’s capable of. We’ll see him blow up this week.
Roy Miller (TBB): We went into further detail about Miller in this week’s Deep Sleepers piece after his 10-point outing last week.
DEFENSIVE BACKS
Craig Dahl (S – STL): Super inconsistent, but then again, so is his running mate Oshiomogho Atogwe. Plus, he’s got a much easier name to type.
Dimitri Patterson (CB – PHI): The entire Philly IDP bunch sucked last week. Expect a rebound here against Houston.
Glover Quin (HOU): I think this guy is one of the more under-rated fantasy CBs in the game. With some consistency, he’ll be a must-have in leagues that start CB.
