IDP Weekly Sleepers - Week 14

Welcome to another edition of The Huddle’s IDP Sleeper Report.  The following IDPs were found on either a 12 or 16 IDP league’s waiver wire.  Good luck this season and feel free to email me at huddledarin@yahoo.com if you want to suggest a player or discuss my picks.  Good luck this season!

LINEBACKERS

Tyjuan Hagler (IND): Clint Session and even Gary Brackett owners should grab Hagler now, unless it’s too late.  Hagler’s running the effective WLB spot for the Colt defense and will continue to put up good numbers.

Mario Haggan (DEN):  He’s already having a pretty solid season, and now Joe Mays, who was fighting for increased playing time with his own solid play, is on IR.  Haggan should fight off Wesley Woodyard for the spot alongside D.J. Williams in the Denver LB corps.

Other to Consider:  David Bowens (CLE)

DEFENSIVE LINEMEN

Spencer Johnson (DE – BUF):  Looks like one of the better pass rush options for the Bill defense (not really saying much, but still) is healthy and has a decent matchup this week.

Mike Patterson (DT – PHI):  Patterson’s on a two-game sack streak and will plug up the middle against the Dallas run game.  We’re projecting a pretty optimistic 3 solos and a sack for the big tackle out of USC.

Other to Consider:  Mike DeVito (DE - NYJ)

DEFENSIVE BACKS

Craig Dahl (S – STL):  He’s a bit banged up himself, but so is his fellow safety mate O.J. Atogwe.  Gotta love the matchup against the Saints this week.  They’ll be tested, and both should post solid stats.  Dahl’s likely the one on your waiver wire though.

Javier Arenas (CB – KCC):  Took the rookie over half the season, but he’s now really looking good with extended playing time and has a cherry matchup this week against the pass-happy Bolts.

Other to Consider:  Ryan Clark (S - PIT)

Week 13 Results

LINEBACKERS
Matt Roth (MIA): Got his 4 solos, but didn’t get his fourth sack of the season.
Julian Peterson (DET):  Peterson has all but lost his penchant for sacking the QB.
Jason Hunter (DEN):  5 solos isn’t horrible, and he’s reached or surpassed that number three other times this season.  Keep your eye on this guy.

DEFENSIVE LINEMEN
Wallace Gilberry (DE – KCC):  Strangely enough, Gilberry was shut out for only the second time this season.  He’s been a nice surprise for the Chief D, but does have the ability to disappear since he doesn’t really log many tackles.
Junior Siavii (DT – SEA):  Colin Cole should regain his starting spot, rendering Siavii useless.
Israel Idonije (CHI):  Love this guy.  Forced his third fumble of the season.  Dude has seven sacks on the season.  Definitely an add candidate in all leagues.

DEFENSIVE BACKS
Greg Toler (CB – ARI):  So much for returning to form against the Rams.
Jarius Byrd (S – BUF):  Oh Jarius, you tease.
Brent Grimes (ATL):  SIX pass breakups?  Thank you, Mr. Grimes!  Expect him to be a solid fantasy corner for the remainder of the season and will be a name to watch in 2011.
