This is a brief recap of the injuries occurring during the weekend's games. A complete in-depth injury report will be published on Tuesday.
Jerricho Cotchery, WR, NYJ – Strained Hamstring
Cotchery appeared to suffer a serious knee injury when he was hit low during Sunday’s game against the Steelers. But it was announced that he suffered an injury to his hamstring and he was cleared to return. The severity of the injury is unknown.
Jay Cutler, QB, CHI – Torn MCL
Cutler left Sunday’s game against the Packers with a knee injury and did not return. Cutler is scheduled to undergo an MRI on Monday, but according to reports the team believes he tore his MCL.
Shonn Greene, RB, NYJ – Undisclosed Injury
Greene left Sunday’s game with an undisclosed injury in the second half and he was replaced by LaDainian Tomlinson. The nature of the injury is currently unknown.
Devin Hester, WR, CHI – Undisclosed Knee Injury
According to reports Hester suffered an undisclosed knee injury on Sunday, but he stayed in and finished the game. The nature and severity of the injury are unknown.
Aaron Rodgers, QB, GB – Bloody Lip
Rodgers suffered a bloody lip after taking a hit to the head in the third quarter. It isn’t clear if he was injured in another way, but he stayed on the field and finished the game. He should be fine for the Super Bowl.
Mark Sanchez, QB, NYJ – Undisclosed Elbow Injury
Sanchez reportedly injured his right (throwing) elbow in the first half of Sunday’s game. He appeared to be in a lot of pain as he left the field, but he returned on the team’s next offensive possession and he seemed to be OK. The nature and severity of the injury is unknown.
