Every season there are players over-rated by the fantasy community. Some will be busts. Some will simply under-perform their draft position. Neither of those things are ideal In fact I contend that if one can simply avoid these little goat droppings of disappointment in a draft and get fair value for players drafted, you are going to be a contender in your league. And that’s why we are all here.
To that end, I have contributed my Players to Avoid list to the Huddle for many years now. For the uninitiated, my track record with this article is over 70%. That's success, not failure. Sometimes I miss. Sometimes I miss big. But for the most part you would have been well served to heed indeed. I include this background information for your own good and to feed my voracious ego. Now, onto the genius...
Here is how it works. I play exclusively 12 team PPR leagues so my picks are heavily tilted toward that format. I am basing my bashing on Average Draft Position. Obviously mock drafts are not real, but that is the yardstick I will use as a basis for my picks. I am not saying all these players will bust! I am saying they will under-perform their draft position. We all want value for our picks, I say these guys are overvalued.
I always include some key first rounders so let’s start with one of those... Mike Vick.
