FANTASY FOOTBALL DRAFT KIT

(-Risk) (+Upside) No one argues that Alexander does not have talent, the problem is that he doesn't have two healthy knees. After five surgeries, Alexander is an injury waiting to happen and he could not keep from missing games as a rookie because of swelling in his knee. He will have a few good games but he is too unreliable because of his health issues.

Amendola was a big surprise when he reeled in 85 catches last year. That was at least partially a function of being one of only two receivers who remained healthy while all others were dropping like flies. But Amendola only gained 8.1 yards per catch for an NFL record worst for a receiver with more than 60 catches in a season. He was almost no factor in the endzone either and at 5'11" and 186 pounds, he's not likely to develop into anything more than what he is. Amendola will be lucky to hold onto what he has done so far. The Rams have restocked the shelves with receivers but the formerly undrafted player loses out more with a new coaching staff and offensive scheme.

The 28-year old undrafted product from West Texas A&M was a big surprise last year when he turned 44 catches into 871 yards and three scores but having McNabb under center and no other healthy wideouts proved to be a big benefit. But Armstong barely caught half of the passes thrown to him and the Skins brought in Jabar Gaffney and Donte Stallworth to compete for the job. Armstrong at least knows the offense but he's likely to lose some snaps to the veterans.

There's a void at one receiver position for the Vikings; all Aromashodu has to do is beat out the likes of Michael Jenkins and Bernard Berrian to get on the field, at which point his talent can take over. It's an uphill battle, to be sure, but after watching Aromashodu close 2009 with 22-282-4 in the final month... stranger things have happened.

Austin dropped back last year to only 1041 yards and 7 scores but much of that was related to the inability of Jon Kitna to connect with him. Austin opened last year with 140+ yards in three of the first four games. Dez Bryant should help Austin avoid the intense coverage of last year and Romo is back.

The slot doesn't do much on most teams but the Eagles use 3- man formations about half the time. That allowed Avant to have around 570 yards in each of the last two years but that is also his ceiling. Not much upside here.

(+Upside) The 6'4", 228 pound wideout from Pittsburgh was drafted with the 1.26 pick of the Chiefs for one main reason - stretch the field and catch deep passes. Baldwin has more than adequate speed to get downfield and is built more like a tight end who can go up and get those long passes over almost any defensive back. The addition of Steve Breaston means Baldwin will start out as the #3 option for the Chiefs and his rookie season will likely be marked by a handful of games with long scoring catches against many games of minor production.

The rookie from 2010 had a slow start with just 395 yards on 25 catches (and that was with 122 yards in one game). He also tore his ACL in December and required surgery. But he has recovered and has been medically cleared to practice again. He is the favorite to keep the #2 spot though this offense does not pass enough to make that fantasy relevant.

Bennett has parlayed his Vanderbilt ties to Jay Cutler into a reasonably productive pair of pro seasons, and he did spend much of the lockout working regularly with Cutler. However, Roy Williams is bigger and better and likely to usurp his role as the possession guy in Mike Martz's offense. While Bennett is still likely to carve out a little bit of productivity, there's little fantasy upside to his game or his role.

Berrian and his $4 million salary dodged the chopping block this offseason because after losing Sidney Rice to Seattle the Vikings are thin at wideout. Minnesota needs to get something close to the Berrian who averaged 20 yards a catch in 2008 to make the decision to keep him a wise one; as it stands, he's Donovan McNabb's primary deep threat.

Bess has developed into a nice slot receiver with back-to-back seasons of around 800 yards and 75 receptions.The beauty of Bess in reception point leagues is that he almost never has a back game. He had 11 games with five or more catches last year and is a big part of the passing scheme if only over the middle for a short gain and few scores. Bess is Wes Welker- lite.

Boldin posted the lowest 16-game catch and yardage totals of his career, but he should offset the Ravens' running-game focus by picking up the lion's share of the production vacated by the departures of Derrick Mason, Donte' Stallworth, and Todd Heap. A potential return to the 1,000-yard level puts Boldin firmly back in fantasy starter territory. Lee Evans is now on board and could eat into Boldin's stats but may actually help by preventing teams from loading up on him.

Bowe had a break out year in 2010 when he ended with 72-1162 and scored 15 touchdowns but he did that in a maddening manner. Four of his five 100+ yard games came in a seven game stretch in the middle of the season when he also scored 13 times. His final six games had only one touchdown and just one game over 70 yards. He was feast or famine and had three games of less than ten yards in those final six weeks. He'll face a much tougher slate of games this season though and he should have to share more with Steve Breaston and the rookie Jonathan Baldwin now on the team. Bowe has the big game ability to be sure, he still needs consistency to warrant being an elite receiver.

The mid-season trade to the Pats did wonders for Branch who responded with five touchdowns in the final 11 games with New England. He managed two efforts over 100 yards and scored in the playoff loss to the Jets as well. Branch is back to form in New England but he is 32 years of age and Ochocinco has joined the team to grab as big a share as he can. That leaves Branch as a definite #3 option in this offense and maybe less considering the love Brady developed for tight ends last year. Branch may carry some fantasy value, but he's likely to produce less than a fantasy starter.

The ex-Cardinal lands in Kansas City and will start either as the slot receiver or the flanker depending on what the rookie Jonathan Baldwin can accomplish in training camp and during the season. Breaston signed a five year contract but he has a history being injured and was bothered by his knee most of last year. He's mildly interesting but is not likely to ever be more than a #2 wideout now on a team that prefers to run.

Briscoe is showing up big in camp and preseason games. He may still take a step back with Arrelious Benn returns but he is making the case for more playing time.

(+Upside) Britt had a breakout season in 2010 - sort of - when he scored nine times including seven times in a five game stretch before he injured his hamstring. He missed four games and now he has missed practice time at camp because of yet another hamstring issue. This is doubly bad because there is a new offense to install and a new quarterback to work with. Add in Britt having yet more off-the-field issues in the offseason and he's just a talented headcase with bad hammies. Downgrade Britt this year from the new offense a bit but he has been much improved and will post some points if he can stay healthy. Risky pick but with some reward.

(+Upside) The 3.18 pick out of San Diego State has a shot to assume the #2 role across from Vincent Jackson thanks to free agent defections. Considered one of the most NFL-ready wideouts in the draft this spring, Brown lands in a great spot to make some waves as a rookie with a top quarterback and two other receivers that concern the defenses. A definite camp watch and a sleeper receiver if there is one this year.

08-07-20 Update: The re-signing of Malcom Floyd shoves Brown back down the depth chart.

(+Upside) Bryant broke his fibula in game 13 last year and his 45 catches for 561 yards and six touchdowns were lower than expectations. But considering that Roy Williams is gone and Bryant proclaims himself 100% recovered, 2011 should be bright for the second-year player. He lost ten pounds to make himself quicker and insists his off-the-field problems in the offseason were much overblown. Bryant has big upside in this offense.

The Lions added speedy Titus Young to take the lid off of defenses and Mikel Leshoure to pound them underneath. They have Jahvid Best running outside, Brandon Pettigrew over the middle, and Calvin Johnson for everything else. That leaves table scraps for the nine-year veteran, who'll be a nice complementary NFL player but, at this stage in this offense, an infrequent fantasy contributor.

After an 18 month stint in the jail, the 34-year old Burress signed a one-year deal with the Jets for $3 million and will assume the #2 spot across from Santonio Holmes. His conditioning and skillset remains to be seen but is worth watching in training camp since he will be taking over the old Jerricho Cotchery role that was worthy of a WR2 last year.

Despite the departures of Terrell Owens and Chad Ochocinco, Caldwell still finds himself on the fringe of the Bengals' receiver rotation. He's best suited for the slot but backs up Jordan Shipley there, and he'll be hard pressed to bump either A.J. Green or Jerome Simpson for looks outside. A WR4 on a team with a new offense and inexperience at quarterback is a dart toss at best.

The Packers' second-round pick was a hot name this preseason--back when we thought Donald Driver might retire and James Jones might leave via free agency. But that didn't happen, meaning Cobb will have a tough time cracking Green Bay's receiver rotation this season. He'll contribute plenty in the return game and is solid insurance should one of the Packs' regular receivers go down with an injury, but his fantasy value in redraft leagues this year barely registers.

(-Risk) Collie turned into a tremendous slot receiver in the vein of Wes Welker and through week six of last season had scored five times and caught 44 passes. But then Collie suffered from huge concussion that drained the rest of the season. He has been cleared to play again and has no signs of that devastating concussion but he will be no less susceptible to them going over the middle on almost every play. Collie has become a great part of the offense but he has to stay healthy.

(-Risk) Coltson comes off his fifth knee surgery having had microfracture surgery to his knee cap in the offseason. Colston is in the final year of his contract and could use a big season. He has managed to turn in 1000 yards or more in all but one season (injury shortened 2008) but his YPC has declined in each of the last three seasons. Colston is the primary wideout of the four who play but has more risk this year with knee issues. He could be a steal if he drops in a draft because of it - but he may be a bust if he goes too high and is slower to recover from the latest procedure.

08-12-11 Update: Colston is still bothered by his knee and that is just a big red flag.

The second-year player has the confidence of the coaching staff though he only turned in seven catches for 116 yards last season and caught passes in just six games. He will remain as #4 on the depth chart but injuries could see his role increase.

Cotchery has been cleared to practice after suffering from a back injury and his role should see an increase this year with Braylon Edwards gone. Santonio Holmes has taken over as the primary and likely only wideout here with direct fantasy value but the 29-year old Cotchery now has Plaxico Burress to compete against and that should land Cotchery back into the slot.

08-10-11 Update: Cotchery has signed for one year with the Steelers where he is unlikely to see the field. He adds just receiver depth for now.

Crabtree starts training camp on the PUP thanks to injuring his foot during player-only practices. He's now questionable to play in the season opener and worse yet he is not learning the new offense or trying to improve what minimal chemistry he has with Alex Smith. This is the same foot that he had injured prior to the NFL draft. Throw in offseason comments suggesting a rift between he and Alex Smith and Crabtree remains a high- risk / moderate-reward player.

Crayton's first season in San Diego saw him injure his wrist and miss the final seven games. Crayton is an early favorite to assume the #2 spot vacated by Malcom Floyd but the confidence is low that he would keep it long if he even reaches the season as a starter. The Chargers brought in the rookie Vincent Brown in the hopes of developing him quickly into a starter.

Cribbs lost some of his fantasy value when the league changed the kickoff rules; curiously, the Browns' reaction was to suggest he'll be playing less receiver this year. Yeah, why would you want to get the ball to your most dynamic playmaker any more than necessary? Expect Cribbs to contend for slot duty and see some work in the wildcat, but ultimately be a slash usable only in best ball formats.

Decker enters his second season and should have a stranglehold on the #3 spot. Problem is that the Broncos never used the slot much and there is no evidence the new offense and Tebow will use it at all.

Dillard has been unable to stay healthy in his two seasons in the NFL but there is some optimism that he could put it together this year and actually matter. He'll battle the rookie Cecil Short for the #3 role in the offense. Dillard could even challenge for the #2 but so far he has not been on the field enough to spark much confidence.

The Indiana product and fourth-round pick has good hands and a real opportunity with Derrick Mason, T.J. Houshmandzadeh, and Donte' Stallworth all wearing different uniforms. He should move into the Ravens' receiver rotation, but he'll battle Anquan Boldin and classmate Torrey Smith for Joe Flacco's attention.

Doucet landed on IR last year thanks to a sports hernia injury and the fourth year player is still more potential than production. With Steve Breaston gone, Doucet gets to challenge Andre Roberts for the starting flanker role but early returns are that Roberts holds onto it. Doucet could have marginal value even as a slot receiver in this offense that never uses tight ends. Training camp watch since the #2 in Arizona will have fantasy value.

Douglas will battle with Eric Weems for the scraps left over from Roddy White, Julio Jones and Tony Gonzalez. That is not enough to merit fantasy attention. Douglas should keep the slot job and the Falcons will throw more - but it won't be enough for him to matter.

Driver said he hopes to squeeze a couple more seasons out of his NFL career, but his productivity has been declining since he reached his 30s and there's little reason to expect a reversal of those tides. That said, he's still in the receiver rotation for one of the league's best passing games so there's upside if he can hold off Jordy Nelson and James Jones for one more year.

Edwards has signed with the 49ers for just one-year and $1 million. He is not a great fit as a long baller with a weak armed quarterback.

The plan is to get Evans more involved but that is no different than the last couple of years when he has not exceeded 612 yards in a season. The offense is taking hold and the rushing game remains nothing special so Evans should see at least an incremental increase but Steve Johnson has already assumed the #1 role and Evans is just a #2 receiver on an average team.

08-22-11 Update: Evans was traded to the Ravens and should see an uptick in his production this year. He's already been a factor in preseason games.

Fitzgerald showed what a truly elite receiver he was when last year ended with 90 catches for 1137 yards and six scores despite there being almost no quarterback in Arizona and little else to worry defenses. That made four straight seasons of 90+ catches and his first with less than 10 touchdowns since 2006. Kolb still has to gain chemistry with him but there is no question what the first read will always be. This will be a better offense than last year - at least marginally.

Floyd has re-signed with the Chargers upon learning no one else likes him.

(+Upside) Ford only had 25 catches for 470 yards and two scores as a rookie but in the world of the Raiders that was top-notch veteran sort of stats. Ford has been playing #3 thanks to the Raiders continued fallacy that Darrius Heyward-Bey is a wide receiver but he may take over the #2 spot and no matter what - he'll remain no worse than the second best Raider wideout. He's a sleeper of sorts but with Campbell at the helm there is not a lot of confidence that Ford can really break out.

Gaffney had a bit of a revival to his career in Denver but now in Washington he'll remained buried on a roster deep in mediocre receivers and without any good QB to make more of them than an average attack. Gaffney could end up challenging for the #2 or #3 role but even that is not likely to offer any fantasy relevance.

Garcon gets to play #2 in a Peyton Manning offense and that is never a bad thing. But he has found his ceiling already with two seasons around 775 yards and five scores. A decent bye week filler but not much else.

Ginn's attempt to revive his never thriving NFL career resulted in his worst season yet. As a 49er, he was limited to only 12 catches (of 35 passes) for 163 yards and one score. Ginn remains a first round bust that is just playing out his disappointing career.

Gonzalez may start the year as the #4 wideout but so far he is just a knee injury waiting to happen. He has only caught five passes since 2008 and is far too risky to merit drafting.

With the departures of Terrell Owens and Chad Ochocinco, the Bengals have 139 catches, 1,814 yards, and 13 touchdowns to replace. Green isn't expected to pick up all of that slack, but Cincy didn't spend a first-round pick on him to be a WR2. Green is easily the most talented of the Bengals' cache of pass-catchers, and since they're all learning a new offense expect him to proceed directly to the front of the productivity line.

Hankerson was the 3.15 pick of the Skins and the Miami product brings in much needed height (6'2") but he'll be raw to start and need to break through the morass of mediocre talent in Washington. Worth a casual watch in camp but unlikely to offer much fantasy value this year.

Hartline plays a needed role as a possession receiver who almost never scores and remains just outside of fantasy relevance. He remains a good backup to stick in your lineup since he almost always generates half a dozen fantasy points or more but rarely has anything near a big game. Two seasons in and he still has not topped 100 yards in a game and has only 4 career scores in two seasons.

The headaches are a thing of the past (fingers crossed); now Percy will have to adjust to being Minnesota's WR1. The new regime's two-TE sets should allow Harvin to move around in the formation, and they'll certainly be more creative than the previous staff in getting the ball to him. Expect Donavan McNabb to fall in love with Harvin quickly, which can only help his productivity.

Henderson comes off one of his worst seasons with only 464 yards and one touchdown. He's always a fantasy tease who looks way better as a free agent than when he is on your roster. Just a bye week filler and a risky one at that.

Maybe the Bears were right in easing back on Hester's wide receiver duties: not only did he end a two-year drought without a singe return TD by bringing three punts all the way back, he also caught a career-best four touchdown passes despite his lowest target total in three years. Less is more for Hester, who is most effective in best ball formats--and when you get credit for his return scores as well.

The only reason why Darrius Heyward-Bey is not a posterchild for bust first round picks is thanks to JaMarcus Russell. His first two seasons have only resulted in a total of 35 catches and two touchdowns and it is not getting any better with Campbell as the QB. He is more likely to be demoted this year than to have any breakout.

Hill is in the running to replace Mike Sims-Walker but he only had 11 catches last season in his first year in Jacksonville. Hill has always seemed more potential than production but he'll get a golden chance this year to become a starter.

Holmes signed a deal worth $50 million for five years to remain a Jet and there is no question who the #1 wideout will be. His first season in NY saw him with 52 catches for 746 yards and six scores and with Braylon Edwards gone, that figures to increase markedly this year. The Jets are never going to be a pass-heavy team, but when they do - most will end up with Holmes. The addition of Plaxico Burress makes Holmes slightly less interesting.

Hurd turned two career touchdowns and five nondescript seasons in Dallas into a free agent bid with the Bears. He'll battle Roy Williams, Johnny Knox, Earl Bennett and Devin Hester for looks; while the Mike Martz offense has made stars of fringe receivers before, Hurd doesn't appear to be heir to that legacy.

Jackson signed his one-year tender for $11.3 million so he still has a big future pay day to work towards. This should be a career year for Jackson who will be motivated and able to build upon his last full season - 68-1167-9 in 2009. If Gates proves at all hampered again this year, the benefit goes mostly to Jackson in addition to being the clear #1 wideout.

Jackson is in the final year of his rookie contract and is woefully underpaid at $565,000 this season. He has averaged around 1000 yards every season and last season totaled 1056 on only 47 catches for a 22.5 YPC average. He is holding out and wants top ten money - he is likely worth it. He's also added a rushing score in each season as well. Assuming that his holdout does not linger into the season, Jackson missing a few weeks won't interfere with his preparedness. Jackson only had two efforts over 100 yards in his final 12 games last year and caught just five scores from Vick.

08-09-11 Update: Jackson showed up for camp to prevent losing a year towards free agency.

Jenkins' most productive season in Atlanta came in 2006, when current Vikings OC Bill Musgrave and WR coach George Stewart on the Falcons' staff. Coincidence? Minnesota hopes not. At worst, Jenkins is one of the best-blocking wideouts in the league and will boost Adrian Peterson's numbers, but that helps in few if any fantasy leagues.

The concern is that much of Jenning's monster season is due to Jermichael Finley's absence from the lineup; indeed, 62-1,082-9 came in the 11 games following Finley's season-ending injury. Regardless, he's the top wideout for one of the league's premier passing offenses, and anything Finley takes away Jennings is likely to add back due to Donald Driver's declining skills and the still- developing games of Jordy Nelson and James Jones.

(+Upside) At age 33, there is no hiding that Ochocinco has suffered at least a minor decrease in skills but he signed a new three- year deal with the Pats to provide what will be his NFL swan song and his first stop ever at a true contender. Ochocinco is taking it seriously, apparently, and working with Tom Brady will be an all new treat. The Pats are going to spread the ball around and Chad isn't likely to be catching as many bombs as he would have in the past, but he could well end up as the most valuable fantasy receiver in that offense. You have to love the upside here - Chad certainly does.

Megatron has survived Detroit's quarterback carousel--thrived, even, with monster seasons two of the past three years. The key is that Lions' QBs know they can throw the ball in Johnson's vicinity and he'll go get it. A couple of additional weapons in the Detroit arsenal and a full season of Matthew Stafford could be what it takes to push Calvin to the top of the fantasy receiver heap.

Johnson has received full medical clearance after undergoing arthroscopic ankle surgery and he claims to be completely healed. Johnson battled the ankle problem almost the entire 2010 season and still ended with 86 catches for 1216 yards and 8 scores. The two seasons before, Johnson totaled over 1500 receiving yards so expect a nice bounce back.

Johnson was one of the biggest sleepers last year when he had a third-year breakout of 82 catches for 1073 yards and ten touchdowns. That was an upgrade to the two catches total for 2009. Johnson enters his second season in the scheme as the clear #1 receiver and preferred target for Ryan Fitzgerald. He had almost as many yards and scores as the combined total of all wideouts for the team.

The undrafted rookie last year managed 18 receptions for 213 yards and a score but only averaged 11.8 YPC. He's still in development with no outlook for much playing time this year.

08-17-11 Update: Jones gets to take over Lee Evans vacated spot and instantly has at least some fantasy value.

Jones has teased Packer fans and fantasy owners alike with flashes of ability wrapped by bouts of inconsistency. The Green Bay front office liked him enough to re-sign him for another three years, with the expectation that he'll battle Jordy Nelson for the right to replace Donald Driver. Last year those three posted similar stats, and they appear slated for a similar fate--with Jermichael Finley returning to take a bite off the top first.

The Texans signed Jones to a three-year, $10.5 million contract but he remains too inconsistent to be consider for a fantasy start. Last year he only had two games with more than 60 yards and half his efforts brought in 30 yards or less. Not worth owning.

(+Upside) The Falcons moved up to grab Jones with the #6 overall pick in the draft and consider him a "no-miss" player that will contribute significantly even as a rookie. With Roddy White turning 30, Jones too represents the future and is a must own in dynasty leagues. Jones had foot surgery in the offseason but has recovered fully and impressed his teammates with his speed and route running.

The Jets moved up to the 5.22 to grab Kerley who replaced Brad Smith in the offense. Kerley is a kick returner and a slot receiver who can also run the ball. As a rookie he won't likely produce fantasy relevant numbers but he could have some value in leagues with points for returns.

With Devin Hester more focused on his returns, Knox emerged as Chicago's big play threat in the passing game. He'll fill a similar role this season, but it's tough to bank on him for consistency: he has but one 100-yard game to his credit and didn't find the end zone until Week 7 of last year. Knox still has fantasy value, though, especially in best ball formats and leagues with a distance scoring element.

The Panthers are going to run and if they throw, probably will connect with a tight end. No fantasy value for LaFell this year.

After trading out of the spot where Julio Jones was drafted, the Browns wound up with Little--who may very well be the most talented wideout on their roster. He'll be rusty after sitting out last season due to NCAA infractions, but don't be surprised if he quickly pushes himself to the fore of Cleveland's wafer-thin receiver rotation.

Lloyd became one of only three players ever to record their first 1200 yard season after seven years in the league. Now there is a late bloomer. Lloyd won't repeat his tremendous 2010 season but he may be a good value in fantasy drafts if others are scared of the new offense in Denver that vows to run more and throw less. The good part - Kyle Orton is still the starting QB and you know where he likes to throw.

Maclin enters his third season and should be a lock to see his first 1000 yard season after finishing with 964 in 2010. Maclin led the Eagles with 10 receiving touchdowns last year. Maclin is less exciting than the long-ball DeSean Jackson but he also has more catches and scores - he's the possession receiver in this offense.

08-09-11 Update: Maclin remains out with his mystery illness and worse yet he has been seen as notably thin. This is a situation that needs to be resolved quickly or he will drop even more before the season starts.

08-16-11 Update: Maclin has disclosed that he was being treated for a potential lymphoma but that he has finally been cleared by doctors of possibly having cancer. He'll be brought back to shape as quickly as can be, but expect it to take some time before he is back to normal.

Manningham will line up as the #2 this year. He ended last year with three straight games with a score and over 100 receiving yards replacing Steve Smith. Manningham ended with 944 yards and nine scores last year. His stock rose sharply with the departure of Smith and remains a big part of the passing offense.

(+Upside) Marshall was stabbed by his wife in April as so often is the case in the offseason, but the case is not being pursued by the law so Marshall is free again until his next transgression. And yet - he has been diagnosed as having a "personality disorder" and has been getting treatment and therapy. The sky is the limit for the talented wideout if his head stopped getting in his way. Marshall did not work out with teammates in the offseason and was healing his knife wounds anyway. He's always a slight risk to get hurt or in trouble but then again he still gained 1014 yards in 14 games last year that included four efforts over 100 yards. He has chemistry with Henne already but will learn the new offense in camp. If his treatment helps his attitude - Marshall could have a big year.

Mason has signed with the Jets to give them some insurance in case Plaxico Burress still has not bought a holster. He is just depth on a team that does not throw much.

Massaquoi's productivity tripled last season when Colt McCoy took over at quarterback, and even the addition of second-round selection Greg Little shouldn't prevent Mohamed from building on those numbers. If Pat Shurmur can do for the Cleveland passing game what he did in St. Louis, Massaquoi could very well sneak into fringe fantasy contributor territory in larger leagues. Hey, you would have laughed had the same been said about Mark Clayton last season and look what happened.

The slash player who varies between running back and wide out is still too unproductive to rely on for fantasy starters. His rookie season only saw him with 21 catches for just 209 yards (10.0 YPC) and he only rushed 18 times for 71 yards. The intention this year is to use him on more rushes but the 170 pound speedster is just a gimmick so far.

Meachem has recovered from post season surgery on his ankle and claims to be back running a 4.25/40. Coaches have commented on his speed already and he could be in line for a career year. Granted - it only takes 723 yards to get there. And his role as the deep threat means he'll always be feast and famine from game to game. And realistically, he seems to find his way to sleeper lists every single year without coming through. Nothing more than fantasy depth but fun to watch.

Saints agreed to terms with Moore on a five-year contract and his ankle surgery in the offseason is all healed. Moore has been right around 45 catches in each of the last two seasons and was second best behind Colston last year. But the passing scheme literally shares equally between four receivers, so Moore is important - but he's likely seen his ceiling in this offense.

The ex-Tennessee wideout has definite deep threat ability and in time could develop into #3 or #4 receiver but he was only drafted in the fifth round and looks more like the motley crew that is already in place. Short of a surprising camp, he'll likely be a nonfactor as a rookie.

Morgan remains one of those mediocre starters with virtually no upside. He comes off a career best 698 yards and two scores last year when the 49ers were in dire need of receivers. That likely represents his ceiling and with a new offense to install, even that would be aggressive for this year.

Moss had a nice 2010 season when a real QB named McNabb connected with him for a career best 93 catches for 1115 yards and six scores. Sadly, McNabb is gone and the question "Beck or Grossman" is doing little to raise Moss' stock this year. Moss signed a three year deal for $15 million to remain and he will be the #1 receiver without question. But a decline in his stats is almost a guarantee with a shakier QB situation and what should be improved rushing to control the ball.

Murphy remains the #1 wideout in Oakland thanks to the very low bar set by even worse wideouts. Murphy has been the only consistently productive wide receiver and even then only had five games that exceeded 50 receiving yards. He may have an incremental increase this year but the schedule is much tougher and the quarterback is no better.

Nelson's 9-140-1 in the Super Bowl has some all but giving him Green Bay's WR2 spot. But those numbers mask three drops on the big stage from a set of hands that's anything but reliable. Nelson will have to battle aging Donald Driver and the re-signed James Jones for looks--plus a share of their pie will be eaten by the returning Jermichael Finley. No worries; odds are someone in your league caught his Super Bowl showing and will take him before he's on your radar.
