Slipknot, the theory behind the rankings is if a draft were held today for the rest of the season, where would these players rank. Regarding Marshall specifically, at the time these rankings were done Henne hadn't been ruled out for the season and the assumption was in the short term Moore would, as backup QBs tend to do, feed the WR1 at the expense of the secondary targets (note that all 8 of Marshall's targets last week came from Moore, while no other Dolphin had more than five). More information from later in the week will impact his ranking going forward.

Jason and rjv, please see the comments on the WR page re: Decker. To sum up, at 37 he's a fantasy WR3 the rest of the way and I could see him moving up within that range. But there are enough other factors at play that I wouldn't be comfortable with him as a fantasy WR2 at this juncture.

Hello - I want to make sure I'm understanding this analysis - Is it saying that at the end of the year, here is who will lead by points by position? Or is it saying, if the season started today, here's where we would rank all players?

Specifically, I am wondering about Brandon Marshall in both of the above considering Henne may be out. How could he possibly be #12 in either scenario? Please convince me that is right or close or at least remotely possible?

they are helpful if you want to make poor decisions moving forward..sure following this, you might hold on to one guy a little longer that pays off, but you are missing out on 3 guys who are going to lead your team into the playoffs...You have to be quick to identify a trend in the player or you aren't getting him...I guess they aren't changing their method, because I complain about it every year :) The Huddle rocks...just not this section..

These rankings and the Free Agent Forecast are two of the most helpful features (along w/ Start Bench List).

On ESPN.com we have to put in our Waiver claims Tuesday nights so thanks for publishing this early. Would love it to be available Tuesday morning but Tuesday PM is a big improvement already -- thanks!

really Decker is sitting at 37 ? You think his numbers go down when Eddie Royal returns and or denver is not going to need to pass the ball in every game because their D [beep] s...these ratings are totally useless...so predictable, and no balls...the sole purpose of this is to fill up space..it must be here for traditional purposes
