Game Day Injury Recap: Week 9
Whit Walters
November 6, 2011

This is a brief recap of the injuries occurring during Sunday's games. A complete in-depth injury report will be published on Tuesday.

Miles Austin, WR, DAL - Strained Hamstring

Austin appeared to pull his hamstring after making a catch in the second quarter. He left the game and did not play in the third and fourth quarters. This is the same hamstring that has bothered since the start of training camp. The severity of the strain and his status for the team’s next game are currently unknown.

Dallas Clark, TE, DAL - Undisclosed Lower Leg Injury

Clark left in the second quarter of Sunday’s game and did not return. The nature of the injury and his status for the team’s next game are currently unknown.

Frank Gore, RB, SF - Sprained Ankle

Gore was able to finish out the game on Sunday, but was spotted walking gingerly at his post-game presser. There may or may not be reason for concern at this point, but look for Gore to have a limited practice week in preparation for his week 10 matchup with the Giants.

Shonn Greene, RB, NYJ - Concussion

Greene left Sunday’s game in the fourth quarter with what the team is describing as a head injury and he did not return. The injury appears to be a concussion, but the severity of the injury and his status for the team’s next game are currently unknown.

Kendall Hunter, RB, SF - Dislocated Finger

Hunter missed several plays after dislocating his finger on Sunday, but he was able to return and finish the game. He’ll probably be limited in practice but he’ll likely play in the team’s next game.

Dustin Keller, TE, NYJ - Undisclosed Head Injury

Keller left Sunday’s game after suffering an undisclosed head injury in the second quarter. The injury was believed to be a concussion, but he was apparently cleared by the medical staff and he returned in the third quarter. The nature of the injury and his status for the team’s next game are currently unknown.

Mohamed Massaquoi, WR, CLE - Concussion

It is believed that Massaquoi left Sunday’s game after sustaining another concussion. He suffered a concussion during training camp and again in week 7 so if this injury is confirmed to be a concussion he could be out for a significant amount of time.

Greg Salas, WR, STL - Fractured Leg

Salas was carted off the field after hurting his leg in the fourth quarter on Sunday and according to reports X-rays have revealed a fractured fibula that will keep him out for the remainder of the season.

Nate Washington, WR, TEN - Undisclosed Hip Injury

Washington left Sunday’s game in the fourth quarter after hurting his hip and he was unable to return. The nature of the injury and his status for the team’s next game are currently unknown.

Beanie Wells, RB, ARI - Stinger

Wells left Sunday’s game after suffering a stinger in the third quarter. He was able to return but he wasn’t very productive. The fact that he returned means that the injury isn’t serious, but his status for the team’s next game is still unknown.
