This is a brief recap of the injuries occurring during Sunday's games. A complete in-depth injury report will be published on Tuesday.
Jake Ballard, TE, NYG - Elbow Injury
Ballard was forced from the game in the fourth quarter Sunday night and was unable to return. Initial x-rays on his injured elbow came back negative and he'll undergo further testing to determine the severity of the injury and his playing status for week 12.
Jay Cutler, QB, CHI - Fractured Thumb on Throwing Hand
Post-game reports are surfacing in Chicago that indicate that Cutler suffered a broken thumb on his throwing hand in the win over San Diego Sunday. If these reports turn out to be true it is highly likely that Cutler will be out for the remainder of the season as surgery may be needed.
Colt McCoy, QB, CLE - Shoulder Injury
McCoy played through what is being called a "sore shoulder" in Sunday's game against the Jaguars. Early reports are that he should be fine for week 12 and might not even have an MRI.
Matt Hasselbeck, QB, TEN - Sprained Elbow
Hasselbeck left Sunday’s game after spraining his right elbow and did not return. The severity of the injury and his status for week 12 are unknown.
Darrius Heyward-Bey, WR, OAK - Undisclosed Neck and Head Injuries
Heyward-Bey had to be secured to a spine board and carted off the field after suffering undisclosed injuries to his neck and head. According to reports he has full use of his extremities, but his status for week 12 appears to be in doubt.
Fred Jackson, RB, BUF - Undisclosed Calf Injury
Jackson suffered what is being described as a calf injury during Sunday’s game against the Dolphins. The injury does not appear to be serious, but he will have it evaluated on Monday as a precaution.
Greg Jennings, WR, GB - Bruised Shin
Jennings spent most of the second half on the sidelines with a bruised shin. The injury does not appear to be serious and team officials expect him to be fine for week 12.
Donald Jones, WR, BUF - Sprained Ankle
Early reports suggest that Jones will miss at least 3 weeks after suffering a serious ankle sprain during Sunday’s game. We’ll know more about the injury tomorrow.
Adrian Peterson, RB, MIN - Sprained Ankle
Peterson left Sunday’s game after spraining his ankle in the second quarter and he did not return. It appears the injury is not serious, but he will have an MRI on Monday just to make sure.
James Starks, RB, GB - Sprained Knee
Starks reportedly suffered a sprained knee during Sunday’s game. The severity of the injury and his status for week 12 are unknown.
D. J. Ware, RB, NYG - Concussion
Ware suffered a concussion on a crushing helmet-to-helmet hit during the game Sunday night against the Eagles. He'll undergo the standard battery of tests next week to determine his status for practice and playing in week 12.
