Pregame Notes: The Colts game went as expected until the Pats allowed them to score 21 points in the fourth quarter and make it look like a far better game than it was. But it still made four straight games with over 30 points scored and the first time since week nine that the Pats did not win by at least18 points. The remaining schedule has this probable win, a trip to Denver which may be tough and then home games versus the Fins and Bills that will be wins. Pats should be no worse than 12-4 and could end up 13-3 on the season.

QUARTERBACK: Nothing new here since Tom Brady clocks in with around 300 yards and two scores every week if not three or more. He has a tendency to score more in road games and produce more yardage as well because there is less reliance on the running game. The Redskins have been better than most against quarterbacks and yet never met any of the top players for the position. Feel safe with Brady every week and this should be no exception.

RUNNING BACKS: If a rushing score is to be made, it will almost always be BenJarvus Green-Ellis to get the touchdown but he has been wildly erratic in yardage and even gets pulled randomly from the game to allow other runners to get work. None of the others have nearly enough consistency or production to merit a fantasy start. BGE really only qualifies thanks to the eight touchdowns he has scored this year but he has been light on the yardage and more so when on the road and Brady tends to pass more.

There is a a chance for a rushing score here against the team that just allowed Shonn Greene to run for three touchdowns just last Sunday. BGE is still a risk though and that does not change with a different matchup.

WIDE RECEIVERS: Wes Welker once again is playing at a high level with 19 catches over the last two games and 229 yards with two scores in that time frame. After some oddly low performances for a month, Welker appears to be back on track like early in the year when he was nearly unstoppable. Deion Branch chugs along and has been better in road games than when at home.

I like Welker to keep on his hot string with solid yardage and a nice chance for a score. Branch should be good for some yardage but a score is hard to rely on.

TIGHT ENDS: Rob Gronkowski would already have the receiving record for Tight End touchdowns with 14 but they ruled one score as a run instead of a catch - so it happens this week. Gronkowski has a ridiculous five games where he pulled down two touchdowns. Aaron Hernandez is actually a good tight end too and ranked #8th currently but Gronkowski is just a man among boys this year. The Skins already allowed Scott Chandler two touchdowns in the same game.

WR Anthony Armstrong - 50 -
WR Jabbar Gaffney - 100,1 -

Pregame Notes: Just when the win over the Seahawks suggested the boat was turning around, the Jets show up and sink it. The 4-8 Skins are stumbling towards the finish line with a better backfield but nothing accomplished otherwise and the team leader in receptions has just been suspended for the rest of the year to make it all that much worse. With trips to the Giants and Eagles on the horizon, the Skins have to hope week 16 hosting the Vikes can be a final win.

QUARTERBACK: HC Mike Shanahan confirmed that Rex Grossman will remain the Redskins' starting quarterback which was needed after he only completed 19 of 46 passes for 221 yards and one interception against the Jets. But he threw for around 300 yards and two scores against the Seahawks and Cowboys recently and he now faces a secondary that has never allowed fewer than 306 passing yards to any road opponent which boggles the mind.

Sadly this would have been a great spot for Fred Davis but "Fred is Dead" and Grossman has to rely on his sub-standard wideouts and half back for catches. Still have to like Grossman posting big yards and one or two scores in this game. Everyone else has. Everyone. Chad Henne and Vince Young passed for 400+ yards.

RUNNING BACKS: After two weeks, HC Mike Shanahan is seeing the results of sticking with Roy Helu as the starter though in fairness he could have listened to just about ANYONE ELSE and went with Helu a month or more ago. Helu has posted two straight games over 100 rush yards and a touchdown in each plus receptions for 40 or 50 yards as well.

With the loss of Fred Davis, chances are Helu will get even more use as a receiver and could become the de facto tight end in the passing scheme. He is a must start this week and every week for at least a decent game. Adding in receptions this time could make for a very big game.

WIDE RECEIVERS: Santana Moss has been back for two weeks but remains as ineffective as he was before he missed six games. Moss has two scores on the year but has not exceeded 74 yards in any game and not been higher than 42 yards since week three. Jabbar Gaffney has been better and more consistent but only has three touchdowns on the year. It does not get any better than the Patriots coming to town. Consider both Moss and Gaffney as good starts this week against the worst secondary in the NFL and in a game that is bound to end up as a shootout.

TIGHT ENDS: Fred Davis has been lost for the year with a four game suspension for violating NFL drug rules and rather than make a ordeal of it,. Davis steps to the side and gets rid of the penalty before next season. Problem is that no other tight end is there to make remotely the same dent that Davis has. Logan Paulsen will take the start but he has a total of seven catches on the year and no touchdowns. He's not likely to be a fantasy relevant player.
