The most important criteria for comparing quarterbacks to their schedule is the talent level of the player more than the challenge he faces. In cases of the extremes, the schedule makes a definite difference as in the great schedule Josh McCown (ARZ) faces versus what the Carson Palmer (CIN) must go against. Since both are newcomers, McCown is far more attractive in fantasy terms.

Conversely, Peyton Manning (IND) appears to have a very bad schedule but the reality is that he has had one of the worst schedules every season he has played. It does not matter for him. Lastly, notable is Aaron Brooks (NO) who has a very nice schedule, far better than his last season.

During the playoffs, we see that McCown has the only trifecta though Daunte Culpepper (MIN), Kyle Boller (BAL) and Drew Bledsoe (BUF) all get two good games without facing a tough defense. Though most likely Bledsoe will play, the rookie J.P. Losman (BUF) may get time when it counts most in fantasy football.
