Resulting Teams
In evaluating this mock, consider that there is a flex position which is best manned with a RB or a good WR, and there are reception points which elevates the value of receivers and tight ends.
Draft Slot #1
5 Round Strategy: RB, WR, WR, TE, RB
This team used the first pick in the draft to start his RB's off with Tomlinson and then focused on the reception point values of Ward (2), Mason (3) and Heap (4) before finally going back for Garner (5).
Passed by Bennett and other RB's to get Mason which later gave him weaker RB's with Garner and Minor which likely ended up with less net points unless Garner and Minor stay starters and healthy.
Ended up with a Tomlinson and Heap as top players in their position but chased the runs on most other positions and ended with a team likely to produce average points buoyed only by Tomlinson's big games which he would have had anyway. Weaker at RB than desired caused by the attempt to be very strong at WR but that caused a domino effect on the other positions taken. A good effort at using the scoring rules that ended up causing unintended weaknesses at other positions.
Starters: Green, Tomlinson, Garner, Ward, Mason, R Smith, Minor (flex), Heap, Elam, MIA

5 Round Strategy: RB, WR, RB, QB, WR
Took the standard Holmes pick wisely and unlike Team #1, went with best WR in Chad Johnson but then took Bennett off the board to start a solid backfield with one top WR. Used the 4.11 pick to snap up Vick - nice pickup for a quarterback that fell as most do in this scoring system. Went back for Koren Robinson in the 5th.
Ended up with nice starters though his flex position would be either Foster or Driver and neither are that attractive. Solid picks in DEF and PK with upside in Clark for a TE.
The attempt at balance ended up with a good starting crew but almost all backups could be a problem if they were needed. This is a team that would be hunting the waiver for RB, WR and TE most the season probably.
Starters: Vick, Holmes, Bennett, C Johnson, K Robinson, L Fitzgerald, Foster (flex), Dallas Clark, Akers and BAL

5 Round Strategy: RB, RB, WR, WR, QB
Nice starting RB's with Green and Stephen Davis and followed that with a double dip into WR's that netted Horn and Booker (right before he went south in more ways than one). Wound up with major find of McNabb at the 5.03. Sweet.
Built a team that contained some nice value picks and a few upside shots like Winslow. Did a nice job in grabbing many players that were Top 5 in their position and that should provide some solid weekly points. Like most teams, much of depth would need eventual upgrades.
Starters: McNabb, Green, S Davis, Horn, Booker, Wayne, Dayne/Warrick (flex), Winslow, Feely and CAR.

5 Round Strategy: RB, WR, RB, WR, RB
This plan seemed to work pretty at this slot. Started with McAllister and then got Owens (2). Then back to RB for Barber (3) and then back to WR to get Toomer (4) and then back to RB to still get Dunn (5). Pretty solid start, maybe not spectacular but solid.
Took QB later in the 7th and still got Brooks and took his TE in Boo Williams in the 6th. Elected to wait on DEF and PK and likely has no advantage there and took the big risk on McCardell in the 8th that he probably wishes he had back. It could hit but is looking too risky right now. Nice starters that are at least average and a few that should be in the upper echelon in McAllister, Owens and Williams.
Starters: Brooks, McAllister, Barber, Owens, Toomer, McCardell, Dunn (flex), B WIlliams, Vinatieri and KC.

5 Round Strategy: RB, QB, RB, RB, WR
Decided to hit the non-receivers hard at first and after Alexander, grabbed Manning at the 2.08 and then doubled on Henry and Duckett (but missed out on McGahee). Went directly into mining WR's for Price, Stallworth, Branch and McCareins. Upside on all of them and at least three should hit for him.
Took the dive to grab NE at the 9.05 to gain an advantage but the wait until 11th for TE left him only Witten - nice sleeper type but less likely to pay off. Boldin pick in the 10th may pay off nicely at the end of the season. Ended up with a some nice upside on a team that could develop well. Manning and Alexander are the cornerstones and most other picks could outperform where they were chosen. Not a powerhouse team, but one that could grow.
Starters: Manning, Alexander, Henry, Price, Stallworth, Branch, Duckett (flex), Witten, Kasay and NE.

5 Round Strategy: WR, TE, RB, WR, QB
This team went for a pure risk/upside ploy and largely got away with it. After starting with Randy Moss, went for the very early pick of Gonzalez over Stephen Davis or Owens. Still reached Thomas Jones with the 3.06 which is looking harder to do each week. Found Coles at the 4.07 and still reached Hasselbeck in the 5th.
Strung together an amazing three swings at the fence with Jackson, Bell and McGahee but at least one is likely to pay off. Picked up Vanderjagt at the 9.06. By delaying the RB picks, got great values in other positions though ended up a bit weaker at WR. This strategy is a gem if players like Jones is still available at the 3.06 and those high upside/risk guys of Bell, Jackson and McGahee would hit. This would be a very fun team to follow through the season.
Starters: Hasselbeck, T Jones, McGahee, R Moss, Coles, Terrell, Jackson/Bell (flex), Gonzalez, Vanderjagt and ATL.

5 Round Strategy: RB, QB, WR, RB, RB
After getting Edgerrin James, went with top QB in Culpepper at the 2.06 and then took Santana Moss at the 3.07 before scrambling back to get RB's Kevin Jones and Suggs which were two gems for 4th and 5th round picks.
Solid choices at TE, PK and DEF won't help him much but should not hurt him either. The key here was that he still netted three good RB choices, a great QB and has a nice blend of older WR's with Reggie Williams thrown in for a sleeper type. This team should contend, especially if the PK, TE and DEF exceed expectations or are upgraded.

5 Round Strategy: RB, RB, WR, WR, WR
Started with the power backfield of Lewis and Dillon and then dug into the WR's for the next three rounds to produce Moulds, Johnson and Andre' Davis. Finally tabbed Pennington with the 6.05.
Later pick of George was a good choice for a flex filler the team took middle tier TE, PK and DEF but all have upside and could perform better than expected. Bettis is another nice RB caught deeply and Musa Smith a wise choice to back up Lewis. This is a very solid team and literally every backup could turn it up this season and surprise no one. Nice depth with upside in WR and while RB depth may not have that much upside, George and Bettis provide rock solid backups. PK is the only real weakness here.
Starters: Pennington, Lewis, Dillon, Moulds, A Johnson, A Davis, George (flex), Kinney, Hanson and SEA.

5 Round Strategy: RB, RB, RB, WR, WR
Team #9 employed a similar strategy to team #8 and the results were just as good. Managed a three RB run to start that netted Portis, D Davis and C Brown - Portis and Brown may not be available that deep in most drafts. Then grabbed a couple of WR in Chambers and Jimmy Smith before finally reaching McNair in the 6th.
TE McMichael should be a solid 7th round choice and PK and DEF should be okay - not likely a difference maker but probably not a weakness either. Ended up with a fairly solid, balanced team with some nice upside in picks like Roy Williams, Calico, Hollings and Onterrio Smith. Having a flex like Chris Brown could be golden. Slight weakness in WR should be compensated with the depth that could step up.

5 Round Strategy: WR, RB, RB, WR, RB
Couldn't resist Holt at the 1.10 and then tabbed Faulk at the 2.03 but missed on Jackson. Took Arlen Harris late but most likely he's first to get cut. Added Westbrook (3) and then Wheatley (5) for a nice 3 man RB set and used Rogers (6) and Jackson (4) for the starting wideouts. Waiting until the 7.10 still gave up Favre which should be solid as always.
Nice upside in Gates and L.J. Smith at TE but waited late on getting any DEF or PK and yet still has good value picks there. Holt is the banner pick here but this offense should produce some consistently good points with an absence of stars filled in with solid choices for the starters.

5 Round Strategy: RB, RB, WR, WR, TE
Sitting back this far he still opted for the RB-RB start and netted Taylor and Rudi Johnson. Then took Walker and Steve Smith with a nice pick at the 5.11 of Shockey. Snapped up Bulger at the 6.02.
Griffin makes a terrific flex guy as long as he lasts and Wilkins yields an advantage at PK that should help. Pollard as a backup TE is very nice and the only holes on this team are the backup RB and WR that could be a problem if needed. In this format and with the way that these teams drafted, deeper picks are producing some solid teams.

5 Round Strategy: WR, RB, RB, RB, WR
Tucked at the end of the first round, went with Harrison to start and then three solid RB choices of Barlow, Martin and Staley offer a great backfield and flex - with Harrison still at WR. Used the 5th and 6th to gain Porter and Burress.
Ended up with four actual starters at RB (if you can live with Emmitt) but goofed on roster restrictions and took a 6th WR and unlikely Engram amounts to much anyway. Crumpler and Chamberlain are a very nice TE set and DAL defense should hold up well. Waiting on QB until the 8.01 meant he missed out on Favre and accepted Brady instead but Carr offers some upside as a backup. This plan created a weaker QB, TE, PK and DEF than ideal, but hard to argue with those 5 RB's and WR's that will start.
Starters: Brady, Barlow, Martin, Harrison, Porter, Burress, Staley (flex), Crumpler, Andersen and DAL.
