The results from 2004 showing how many times a running back either gained 100 total yards (rush + receive) in a game, scored at least one touchdown during a game or did either event in a game. “GMS” indicates how many games were played by each running back.

Games with 100 total yards: No shock to see James, Barber, Dillon and Holmes so high, but Fred Taylor (64%) needs to cure his phobia about scoring to give him suitable fantasy value. Chris Brown (64%) played most of last season with a bad toe – he seems a lock to be near the very top if only if could remain healthy. Surprising drops were Shaun Alexander with barely half of his games cresting the century mark and Willis McGahee varying between monster and pedestrian efforts.

Games with at least one touchdown: Tomlinson and Holmes easily top this list with Tiki Barber turning in a very surprisingly good season. Larry Johnson was merely the “B” side to Priest Holmes last year and will again whenever Holmes is not around. Domanick Davis comes up quite well in this category as another player with durability issues but great results when he is active. Encouraging was that Emmitt Smith was able to score in over half his games last year in Arizona and the new rookie Arrington will be much faster.
