Baker moves up with the trade of Doug Jolley to the Buccaneers. The Jets also acquired Sean Ryan from the Cowboys but there is no real fantasy value there. Jolley heads for Tampa Bay where his presence mainly does little other than move Alex Smith down a bit from the potential of less passes.

Troupe has clearly been the best receiver for the Titans in the preseason though David Givens has been out. He's becoming a solid choice at fantasy tight end now with some upside as well.

McMichael looked good in the third preseason game and he is showing signs of working well with Culpepper. It's worth a one step up but there's still a lot left to prove for anything higher.

Campbell came over during the offseason after playing in Buffalo and became the best tight end in the off-season. He's carried that into the preseason and now stands as the primary starting tight end in the new offense.

The Raiders are making noises that they intend to use the tight end more in the passing game this year and Williams has been particularly impressive in camp and in preseason games. He's worth a slide up but still not likely to merit starting on a fantasy team.

Hilton has lost the starting job to Mark Campbell and now is even in peril of losing the #2 role to Ernie Conwell. Time to cut bait.

Stevens has torn his meniscus in the same knee that received surgery in April. He will be out for six weeks and given that his knee is a problem, you should skip him in your draft even though he may be back as early as week 4.

Lewis slips back a bit with the high ankle sprain that is keeping him out of practice and could last into the season. He's a huge player with good hands but is losing valuable training time with the team.
