Started: RB, WR, WR, RB, RB
Started out with Larry Johnson and still found Anquan Boldin for a top WR. I liked what he did next - grabbed Reggie Wayne for a great WR2 and then used his swing to secure the CAR rushing game with Foster and Williams. That may seem wasting a pick but he was able to start out with three great picks and then still have both super solid RB and WR starters.
Overall, grabbed best defense in CHI next and then still reached Warner at the 7.01. In 14 team league, That is a great start. Top RB and DEF, two very good WR and the CAR rushing game. Even landed Rackers later at PK. Nice sleepers in Jones and Lundy at RB no less. Everyone hates the #1 team and this is looking like a team to hate by the rest of the league. Tight end is weak.

Started: RB, WR, RB, WR, RB
Followed a similar plan to team #1 but after Alexander and Moss, opted for Jamal Lewis for a rock solid RB set that added Mike Bell in the 5th. That could be a great set of RBs but he paid a price for that with Houshmandzadeh at WR2 and then later Keyshawn for starting WR.
Trent Green a nice grab in the 7th and wisely took Miller as TE before they were completely drained. This team is solid though it appears to have less pop than team #1. Good effort for what was available and nice depth in all positions.

Started: RB, WR, RB, QB, WR
After Tomlinson, reached Terrell Owens perhaps thanks only to his hamstring keeping him out of practice. Dunn at the 3.03 locks up a nice backfield in a 14 team league and Hasselbeck will be above average at QB. Javon Walker as WR2 is a risk but has undeniable upside.
Overall, Witten a solid TE and has some upside in Kitna, Norwood and Givens. Bottom half of starters are average at best but the top half will keep team in competition. Team does have some growing room and could look better two months from now.
Plan Grade: B+ |
Started: RB, TE, RB, WR, WR
After snagging Tiki Barber, opted to go with Antonio Gates with his second pick over available tier 1 WR and without reception points, the move is less advantageous but still nets him an undeniable difference maker. Droughns fills in at RB2 and then had a three WR stretch that brought in Andre Johnson, Kennison and Bruce - not too shabby though not spectacular.
Overall., waited on PK and DEF and Plummer in the 9th was too late. Leaves him below average at QB and only Brees to fall back on. Solid team but his best player is in the lowest scoring position - TE.

Started: RB, QB, RB, TE, RB
This plan worked very well, only with different players used. Steven Jackson was a solid choice at RB and then Manning was too much to pass up - he fell too far. An RB at the 3.05 was appropriate but could have been Benson, Gore or Dillon with a lot less risk. Shockey was a great pick at the 4.10 and then Taylor comes in to make the RB2 risk that much higher - he could have been Maroney, Lendale White, Thomas Jones - almost anyone else.
Overall, he did back-up Davis with Smith though that looks a little shaky too. This team is pretty solid even with the risky picks and were they more upside players without the risk, this roster would look as good as almost any with Manning taken early. Plan grade is the positions - not the players.

Started: RB, RB, QB, WR, WR
A standard approach that worked out well. Went with Ronnie brown and then took a small swing at the fence with Reggie Bush who was joined later by McAllister. Brady at the 3.06 should be a difference maker and then needed two wideouts and went for the veterans Horn and Rod Smith.
Overall, his tight ends are weak but both have great upside and could surprise. Nice mixture of old veteran receivers and young upside bucks. Waited until the end for DEF and PK but still a solid effort. This plan is well suited for a mid draft pick or less in a 14 team league.

Started: RB, RB, WR, WR, WR
This plan just followed the runs but got a gift in Portis who fell due to his injury. After two backs, went on a three wideout streak which has good players but nothing great. QB in the 6th of Bledsoe was probably a nice value at the time. Waited until the 9th for a TE and got upside/risk player in Vernon Davis.
This is a safe plan to build a good team but turning it into great could be a challenge unless Addai steps up big time. There is some nice upside here with him, Davis, Brooks and Jennings. This should be a good team at least and could be above average with some luck and exceeded expectations.
Plan Grade: B+ |
Started: RB, WR, RB, WR, WR
This team was built similar to team #7 but after Edgerrin James, opted for Harrison instead of RB and still ended up with Benson in the 3rd. Bottom line - which looks better? Kevin Jones and Darrell Jackson or Harrison and Benson? The answer is the plan you should use. Went for Mason and Branch to round out WRs for a very nice trio and still landed Thomas Jones in the 6th which made the Benson pick shine.
Vick and SImms are not my personal choices for QB but could be fine. There may be not backup RB when bye weeks come around and outside of RB and WR it is hard to see this team being elite, but those RB's and WR's should do enough damage for this team to complete.

The safest plan came together pretty well here. Went with Jordan and Chester Taylor to start and then snapped up the trio of Chambers, Burress and Muhammad. No stop stars but a nice grouping in total. Bulger in the 6th was a great pick and likely could make this team contend.
Cooley was a need in the 7th and the G-men should be solid at DEF. This is a solid team with some nice depth in literally all positions which will help in this larger sized league. Safe but very solid team.
Plan Grade: A- |
Started: RB, WR, RB, WR, RB
Opted to mix up the plan for best values and landed Cadillac and then Larry Fitzgerald for a nice start. Dillon at the 3.10 may seem a little early but using his 5.10 for Maroney was a great move that will be hard to count on happening in every league. Roy Williams as WR2 also solid.
Went for value with Crumpler and PIT defense but that left QB for the 8th round which was fortunate to at least get Delhomme. Somehow Culpepper fell in this draft to the 11th round so he'll likely be fine at QB but you cannot rely on CPep dropping since it only takes one guy to remember 2004. This was a value pick team that filled out very nicely but caught a couple of breaks that made it tick - hard to rely on those happening.

Started: RB, WR, RB, TE,WR
Started with Rudi Johnson and then snapped up Holt for a very nice value at the 2.04 pick. Gore comes in at RB2 and Gonzalez filled out TE in the 4th round.
Waited until the 8th but still reached Favre. Ended up with both Curtis Martin and Houston which will be great if the Jets don't acquire anyone else and will be a waste if they do. Solid roster with some punch to it but following this plan led to a team with more risk than was necessary even if he may have gotten away with it for now.

Started: RB, RB, TE, WR, WR
Started out with McGahee and Parker for a nice backfield and then opted for playmaker Heap at TE. That left him Santana Moss and Reggie Brown for wideouts. McNabb at the 6th could save this team.
CAR defense at the 7.12 was a great pick for a difference maker. Team ended up with a nice set of starters to be sure but running back depth paid the price which could be steep with one injury. Still - got some playmakers and enough solid players that this team will be okay long as there are no injuries.

Started: WR, RB, WR, RB, WR
Heading back to the end of the draft now, this team opted to get Steve Smith as the first non-RB taken and still ended up with Julius Jones as RB1. That was made stronger with Marion Barber in the 7th round but that could be hard to rely on happening in a 14 team league. Ward is a great WR2 to be sure and reaching Rhodes at the 4.02 was likely a coup.
Overall, I really like this team plan. Jones gives him a great upside WR3 and Eli Manning in the 6th was a very strong pick, Even got the #1 kicker in the 8th looking for a difference maker. IND defense should be above average as well. For such a late start, this team came together about as well as you could hope in a 14 team league.

Started: WR, RB, RB, QB, WR
Like team #13, this plan worked out rather well. Started with Chad Johnson and then scooped up Westbrook and Chris Brown for a risky start made better when he grabbed LenDale White in the 6th round. Palmer at the 4.01 was a good pick that will be a great pick if Palmer proves healthy all season. Koren Robinson was drafted here prior to his swerving race back to camp that ended in a squad car. He could have been Galloway, Bruce and Keyshawn.
Overall, this team waited on DEF and TE though L.J. Smith should be at least an average starter. Taking out the KRob pick with another player, this roster could do well with Palmer and those starting RB's and WR's.
