Game Predictions

Prediction Last Week 10-6, vs. line 7-9, Overall 121-71 (64%), vs. line 92-100 (47 %)

CLE 13, PIT 20
actual - CLE 7, PIT 27

(Line: PIT by 7.5) Here's a game that the Steelers must win since the schedule is brutal the rest of the way. PIT already won in CLE this year but may be without Hines Ward. No matter - the Browns are not even sure which quarterback they will use.
ATL 20, TB 7 (Line: ATL BY 3) The Bucs sport the lowest scoring offense in the NFL and the Falcons need a win to remain in the thick of the wildcard hunt. Vick not only needs just 71 rushing yards to break 1000, he'll actually look like a great passer compared to Gradkowski.
BAL 10, KC 17 (Line: KC BY 3) The road Ravens are less dominating and Larry Johnson at home has been a joy to behold this year. Lower scoring overall, the Chiefs at Arrowhead should prove too much.
IND 23, JAX 20 (Line: IND BY 1.5) The Colts have lost their last two road games and now are in jeopardy of sliding behind the Chargers in the AFC. The Jags feature a great ground game but Manning will pass just enough to compensate.
MIN 13, DET 17 (Line: DET by 2.5) Tough call on two teams both teetering on collapse. The home Lions have their best shot a a third win on the season and cannot let this one past. The Vikes are not even sure who their QB will be.
NE 24, MIA 13 (Line: NE by 3.5) The Fins at home weren't so tough against a good JAX defense last week and the Patriots are bringing a good one plus have already beaten them this year. So much for that winning streak.
NYG 20, CAR 17 (Line: CAR by 3) Both teams are struggling now but the Panthers are at home with the better defense. Loser gets to admit the playoffs are not likely to happen. I changed the winner of this game to the Giants who are more than a little desperate and the Panthers with Weinke are less obviously. The Panthers have already lost to the Eagles, Cowboys and Redskins - this makes it a clean sweep.
TEN 20, HOU 17 (Line: HOU by 1.5) Coin toss game but the Titans sure like to mount comebacks. This all depends on which Carr shows up and according to the last two weeks, that is nearly impossible to tell.
OAK 7, CIN 17 (Line: CIN by 11) No reason to get super-motivated here against the Raiders who are 0-6 on the road and can be beaten by just standing to the side and letting them do it themselves. CIN comes off a big win over BAL and will face the Colts the next week. Just get this thing over.
PHI 20, WAS 17 (Line: WAS by 1) Coin flip game between two teams still trying to figure out who they are with new quarterbacks. But the Eagles still have Westbrook and at 6-6, they still have a reason to win this game.
BUF 13, NYJ 20 (Line: NYJ by 1.5) The Jets look like they have found a running back, again, and at home can reach 8-5 on the season while the Bills keep waiting for Evans to get open.
DEN 10, SD 30 (Line: SD by 7) This game has a chance to be an ugly one because Cutler on the road for the first time will likely make even more mistakes that can be converted to LT touchdowns or field goals. LT already had 3 TD's in Denver a few weeks back, he'll get at least two this week if not more.
GB 14, SF 23 (Line: SF by 5) Sure, this looks like a messy game with the worst two teams in the league in points allowed pairing up. But at home the 49ers should be better while the Packers are getting worse each week. Fire up Gore and wait for Favre to throw an interception.
SEA 27, ARZ 24 (Line: SEA by 3.5) That new found ability to rush the ball last week won't likely hold up against the Seahawks who are hitting their groove now with all hands back on deck. But the Cards are better in their own next and will make the Seahawks work for the win.
NO 21, DAL 30 (Line: DAL by 6.5) An excellent game for Sunday night, the Cowboys at home need to beat the Saints to hope for a shot at a first round bye. The Saints are charmed this year but have not beaten a team that currently has a winning record.
CHI 24, STL 17 (Line: CHI by 6.5) Monday night game with the awesome Bears defense heading into St. Louis where the Rams are fighting internal squabbles and trying to point the ship in the right direction. The Bears don't have to care here in order to make the playoffs as the #1 seed but it is Monday night.
