Game Predictions

NO 27, IND 31 (Line: IND by 6) What a great way to open the 2007 NFL season. The two best passing attacks and both teams sporting less than average secondaries. But Manning at home with a few months to prepare? Too much even for the Saints.
ATL 10, MIN 20 (Line: MIN by 3) The Vickless Falcons hit the road and face a decent defense. Too many distractions and too many new things mean the Falcons start out with a loss and the Vikes get their easiest game of the year out of the way.
CAR 20, STL 24 (Line: CAR by 1) Coin flip game but I like the history of Linehan in week one. Both teams are better than last year but on the road the Rams take a much needed win before the schedule tightens up.
DEN 20, BUF 10 (Line: DEN by 3.5) The Bills bring Lee Evans and no one else to pit against the mega-corners of the Broncos. Lynch is still raw and the Broncos are tired of screwing up their season openers.
KC 17, HOU 23 (Line: HOU by 3) The Chiefs show up with Johnson still cutting the tags off his uniform while the Texans have new toys in Schaub and Green. Take the home team here that really wants to start out well, not the visiting team that just signed their RB and failed in trying to get a new QB.
MIA 7, WAS 20 (Line: WAS by 3) Either the Fins are still mid-stream in installing a new offense or Cameron is really a good actor. I think he is not a good actor and the Skins open with a win.
NE 27, NYJ 17 (Line: NE by 6.5) The last time these teams played, the Jets beat the Pats in Foxboro. I remember it. So do all the Patriot players. So does Obi Wan Kenobe Belichick.
PHI 27, GB 14 (Line: PHI by 3) See, this is what happens when you do not get Favre a new receiver. And when both Driver and Morency are banged up. And...
PIT 24, CLE 13 (Line: PIT by 4.5) The Steelers are installing a new offensive scheme but have all the same players from last year. Problem with the Browns is that they most of the player from last year as well.
TEN 10, JAC 27 (Line: JAX by 6.5) The Titans are still trying to figure out where Henry, Bennett and Wade went while Taylor and Jones-Drew draw straws for the next touchdown.
CHI 20, SD 31 (Line: SD by 5.5) Nothing like blowing homefield in the playoffs to sharpen your wits the next season. And nothing like Grossman's preseason play to give the Bears something to worry about.
DET 24, OAK 21 (Line: OAK by 1) Coin flip game but Oakland is installing new schemes with new players and the Lions finally have the guys they want. Close game and hard to stand by a Lions road win but hey - week one is always odd.
TB 14, SEA 24 (Line: SEA by 6) Garcia is an upgrade but the Bucs only averaged 13 points per game last year. Baby steps, Jeff.
NYG 24, DAL 27 (Line: DAL by 5.5) These match-ups are always interesting and the Cowboys are the ones with the new offense and defense (of sorts). Tiki is no longer a Giant though and the Cowboys take a close win.
BAL 14, CIN 20 (Line: CIN by 3) Nice Monday night game to start the year. A defensive score either way wins the game but opening at home means Palmer and company will be just good enough.
ARI 20, SF 23 (Line: SF by 3.5) I kind of like an upset here but the 49ers at home should manage to take this with an improved defense and enough passing to let Gore do his thing.
