The following is a brief recap of the injuries occurring during Sunday games. A complete detailed injury report (Training Room Injury Report) will be published on Tuesday.
T.J. Duckett , RB, DET
Sprained Ankle - Left game and did not return. He's scheduled to undergo tests and be re-evaluated on Monday.
Kevin Everett, TE, BUF
Severe Cervical Spine Trauma - Was knocked unconscious after taking a helmet to helmet hit in third quarter. He was not moving while on the ground and was taken from on the field in an ambulance. According to reports he underwent emergency surgery on his cervical spine but at this point the team is not releasing any specifics regarding his injury. He's out indefinitely and it appears that this injury could affect his career.
Jeff Garcia, QB, TB
Undisclosed Injury - Left game in the third quarter after being hit in the legs on shoulders at the same time by two defenders. He was helped off the field and taken to the locker room, but he later returned to the game. His status for Week 2 is currently unknown.
D.J. Hackett , WR, SEA
Sprained Ankle - Left game in the first quarter and did not return. He's scheduled to undergo tests and be re-evaluated on Monday.
Brandon Jacobs, RB, NYG
Sprained Knee - Left game in the second quarter and did not return. It's unclear how the injury occured, but the injury could keep him out for at least a week. He's scheduled to undergo an MRI today.
Eddie Kennison, WR, KC
Strained Hamstring - Left game in the first quarter after injuring his leg and did not return. The severity of the injury is currently unknown and his initial status for Week 2 will be announced sometime today.
Eli Manning, QB, NYG
Undisclosed Shoulder Injury - Manning injured his right shoulder in the fourth quarter and after being examined on the sideline by a team physician he was held out for the remainder of the game. The nature and severity of the injury and his status for Week 2 is currently unknown but he is scheduled to undergo an MRI today.
Chad Pennington, QB, NYJ
Sprained Ankle - Left game in the third quarter and appeared to be in a lot of pain but later returned to the field. The severity of the injury and his status for Week 2 is unknown.
Josh Scobee, PK, JAC
Strained Quad - Injured during pre-game warm-ups and was available for only very short field goals during the game. The extent of the injury is unclear but the team expects to sign another kicker this week to fill in while Scobee heals.
Lito Sheppard, DB, PHI
Sprained MCL - Left game in the second quarter and was examined in the locker room where the team's medical staff determined that he suffered a sprained MCL. He's scheduled to undergo an MRI today to determine the severity of the injury, but early indications have Sheppard missing at least a couple of weeks.
Darren Sproles, RB/KR, SD
Concussion - Left game after getting hurt on the opening kickoff. He did not return and his status for Week 2 is currently unknown.
Chester Taylor, RB, MIN
Bruised Hip - Was injured when he was accidentally kicked by a teammate during a screen play. He was taken to the locker room for X-rays, which were negative, but he did not return to the game. His status for Week 2 is currently unknown.
Carnell Williams, RB, TB
Rib Injury - Left game in the third quarter after absorbing a hard hit from a Seahawks' defender and was taken to the locker room for X-rays. The results have not been released and there is speculation that this injury could keep him out for at least one week.
