The following is a brief recap of the injuries occurring during Sunday games. A complete detailed injury report (Training Room Injury Report) will be published on Tuesday.
Plaxico Burress, WR, NYG
Sprained Ankle - Burress left the game after spraining his ankle (the same ankle he had off-season surgery on). He was limping on the sideline but he was able to return to the game. The severity of the injury and his status for Week 3 is currently unknown.
Patrick Crayton, WR, DAL
Dislocated Finger - Left game and was taken to the locker room where his dislocated finger was X-rayed and put back in place. Results of the X-rays have not been released but he was allowed to return to the game with his fingers taped. Severity and the exact nature of the injury is currently unknown.
Frank Gore, RB, SF
Undisclosed Knee/Leg Injury - Gore was apparently being checked by the medical staff after getting hurt on a carry in the fourth quarter. He returned to the field but was seen limping after the game. The injury does not appear to be severe but he will undergo a full examination on Monday.
James Harrison, LB, NE
Undisclosed Neck/Head Injury - Left field on the stretcher after injurying neck on the final play of the first half. He was later seen walking on the sideline but he did not return to the game. The severity of the injury and his status for Week 3 is currently unknown.
Tavaris Jackson, QB, MIN
Strained Groin - Left game during overtime and did not return. The severity of the injury is currently unknown and his status for Week 3 has not been announced.
Andre Johnson, WR, HOU
Sprained Posterior Cruciate Ligament (PCL) - Left game in the fourth quarter and after being examined by the medical staff he was not allowed to return to the game. The severity of the injury is currently unknown but he is scheduled to undergo an MRI on Monday. The medical staff is reportedly cautiously optimistic.
Larry Johnson, RB, KC
Undisclosed Leg Injury - Johnson missed several plays while the medical staff examined and taped his leg. But he was able to return to the field and finish the game. The injury does not appear to be severe but we will know more about his status sometime today or tomorrow.
Jon Kitna, QB, DET
Concussion - Missed two quarters after taking a big hit by a Vikings' defender but he was eventually cleared to return and finished the game. The concussion does not appear to be serious, but his status for Week 3 will be determined later in the week.
Trevor Pryce, DE, BAL
Broken Wrist - Left the game Sunday with a fractured wrist. He'll be re-evaluated on Monday to determine how long he'll be out.
Steve Smith, WR, NYG
Fractured Scapula - Left game and was taken to the locker room where X-rays revealed a fracture to his shoulder blade. Smith is definitely out for Week 3 and could be out for a significant amount of time.
Troy Williamson, WR, MIN
Hamstring - Williamson left the game Sunday with a strained hamstring and will be re-evaluated on Monday. His status for week 3 will not be determined until later in the week.
