The following is a brief recap of the injuries occurring during Sunday games. A complete detailed injury report (Training Room Injury Report) will be published on Tuesday.
Ronnie Brown, RB, MIA
Sprained Knee - Brown's knee appeared to buckle while he attempted to make a tackle during an interception return in the third quarter. He was able to walk off the field on his own but he did no return. He was seen on crutches after the game and according to reports an initial evaluation was inconclusive. The team and Brown are concerned that his ACL may be involved, but he is scheduled to undergo an MRI today. We'll know a lot more about his status once the results are released, however it looks like he could be out for an extended period of time.
Rock Cartwright, RB/KR, WAS
Strained Quadriceps - Cartwright was hurt at the end of his 80-yard kickoff return to start the second half. The injury forced him to leave the game and he did not return. The severity of his injury and his status for Week 8 is currently unknown.
Michael Clayton, WR, TB
Sprained Ankle - Clayton left game in the first half and did not return. X-rays were negative, but he's scheduled to undergo additional tests today. The severity of his injury and his status for Week 8 is currently unknown.
Jeff Garcia, QB, TB
Undisclosed Hand Injury - Garcia was seen with ice wrapped on his hand after the game. The team did not say when or how he was hurt but they don't believe the injury is serious and they expect him to play in Week 8.
Frank Gore, RB, SF
Sprained Ankle - Gore left the game in the first half after turning his ankle but he returned to the field after being taped by the medical staff. He was able to finish the game so the injury does not appear to be serious.
Matt Hasselbeck, QB, SEA
Bruised Ribs - Hasselbeck injured his ribs during Sunday's game but did not miss any plays. The injury does not appear to be serious and he should be fine for their next game.
Renaldo Hill, DB, MIA
Sprained Knee - Hill sprained his knee in the second quarter and was helped off the field by the medical staff. He did not return to the game and the team believes that the injury could sideline him for several weeks. He will undergo an MRI on Monday.
Tarvaris Jackson, QB, MIN
Broken Finger - Jackson suffered a broken second finger on his throwing hand but was able to finish the game Sunday. An evaluation of the injury will be done Monday and his status for Week 8 is currently unknown.
Brandon Jacobs, RB, NYG
Sprained Ankle - Jacobs aggravated his ankle injury in the fourth quarter and was replaced by Reuben Droughns. The severity of his injury and his status for Week 8 is currently unknown.
Mark Jones, WR, TB
Sprained Knee - Jones was carted off the field after spraining his knee in the first quarter. He did not return and his status for Week 8 is questionable. He's scheduled to undergo an MRI on Monday so we should know more about his status once the results are released.
Byron Leftwich, QB, ATL
High Ankle Sprain - Leftwich left the game after hurting his ankle in the third quarter and did not return. The team is calling the injury a high ankle sprain and although he's scheduled to undergo an MRI today to confirm the nature of the injury, he'll probably miss at least one game while he recovers.
Tony Romo, QB, DAL
Strained Hamstring - Romo pulled his hamstring in the second quarter but he did not miss any plays and he was able to finish the game. The injury does not appear to be serious and the team expects him to be ready for their next game.
Matt Schaub, QB, HOU
Sprained Ankle and Undisclosed Hip / Back Injury - Left game in the first quarter after spraining left ankle but was able to return to the field. He was hurt again in the second quarter and left the field but he did not return to the game. The severity of his injuries and his status for Week 8 are currently unknown.
