Sunday Evening Injury Recap - Week 14

The following is a brief recap of the injuries occurring during Sunday games. A complete detailed injury report (Training Room Injury Report) will be published on Tuesday.

Ron Dayne, RB, HOU
Ankle - Dayne did not finish Sunday's game due to an undisclosed ankle or leg injury. He will be re-examined on Monday to determine the extent of the injury and his status for week 15.

Trent Dilfer, QB, SF
Concussion - Dilfer left game in the second quarter and did not return. He appeared to be knocked out on the field and remained on the ground for several minutes before being helped off. He was taken to a local hospital as a precaution and it appears that his status for week 15 is in doubt.

Tony Gonzalez, TE, KC
Undisclosed Leg Injury - Left game in the second half and was taken to the locker room for an examination. He later returned and finished the game. The severity of the injury and his status for week 15 is currently unknown.

Brandon Marshall, WR, DEN
Undisclosed Upper Body Injury - Marshall left the game late in the fourth quarter after falling on his side. The severity of the injury and his status for week 15 is currently unknown.

Willis McGahee, RB, BAL
Sprained Toe - McGahee left game in the first quarter after aggravating an existing sprained toe but was able to return after having it taped. The injury does not appear to be serious but his status for practice and the team's week 15 game remains unknown.

Shawn Merriman, LB, SD
Sprained Knee - Merriman left the game with a knee injury and did not return. The severity of the injury and his status for week 15 is currently unknown.

Lorenzo Neal, FB, SD
Undisclosed Leg Injury - Neal left the game and was taken to the locker room for X-rays. He did not return to the game. The injury looks like it could be serious. We should know more about his status for week 15 at some point today.

Leonard Pope, TE, ARI
Ankle - Pope left the game Sunday with an undisclosed ankle injury. It is feared to be a broken ankle, but he'll have further tests on Monday to determine the severity of the injury. His status for week 15 is uncertain.

Philip Rivers, QB, SD
Sprained Knee - Rivers left game in the first quarter but later returned and helped lead the team to a comeback victory. The severity of the injury and his status for week 15 is currently unknown.

L.J. Smith, TE, PHI
Knee Injury - Smith was knocked out of Sunday's game in the second half with a knee injury after he missed some time in the first half with a rib injury. He will have an MRI on his knee Monday to determine the extent of the injury. His status for week 15 is currently unknown.
