The running back numbers were down frrom last year but only in the sense of total points - not consistency. The rankings match up almost equally from the previous season so it was only that the teams were using other players for those extra touchdowns and additional yardage. Running backs were still just as likely to have a decent game of 100 total yards and/or a touchdown. 2007 was marked with many running back injuries but since consistency measures "per game", the numbers do not dip much for players who were injured .
Running backs remain the most consistent players on your fantasy team, even in a down year. The ranking below consider how often a running back had 100 total yards and/or scored a touchdown.
