Derek Anderson, QB, CLE – Sprained MCL
Anderson left Sunday’s game after hurting his knee and he did not return. The injury is being described as a severe MCL sprain and team officials are saying that his season is likely over. He will undergo an MRI today to confirm the diagnosis.
Plaxico Burress, WR, NYG – Self-Inflicted Gun Shot Wound to the Thigh
Burress reportedly shot himself in the right thigh on Friday night and his injuries will likely keep him out for the remainder of the season. Burress faces legal trouble as a result of the shooting and there are reports that he hasn’t communicated with Giants officials. There is speculation that his career in New York is over.
Reggie Bush, RB, NO – Knee Soreness
Bush made his return to the field on Sunday, but after a productive first half he apparently began to experience soreness in his surgically repaired knee and he was held out for the entire second half. Team officials are not classifying this as a re-injury or aggravation.
Trent Edwards, QB, BUF – Strained Groin
Edwards left Sunday’s game early in the second half after suffering a groin injury and did not return. He will be re-evaluated on Monday to determine the severity of the injury and his playing status for week 14.
Ryan Grant, RB, GB – Undisclosed Hand Injury
Grant suffered what team officials were calling a bruised hand in the second quarter and he did not play in the second half as a result. The severity of the injury and his status for week 14 are currently unknown.
Peyton Hillis, RB, DEN - Strained Groin
Hillis left Sunday’s game late in the fourth quarter after suffering what's being reported as a groin injury and did not return. He will be re-evaluated on Monday to determine the severity of the injury and his playing status for week 14, but initial indications are the the injury is not serious.
Clinton Portis, RB, WAS – Stinger
Portis, who is dealing with a number of injuries, reportedly suffered a neck stinger on Sunday and he was in and out of the game. The severity of the injury and his status for week 14 are currently unknown.
Tony Scheffler, TE, DEN – Sprained Ankle
Scheffler twisted his ankle in the fourth quarter on Sunday but the injury kept him on the sideline for only one play. Team officials aren’t concerned about his ankle, but he is scheduled to undergo further testing today.
Wes Welker, WR, NE – Possible Concussion
Welker left Sunday’s game in the second half after getting hit hard and he did not return. As expected the team has not said what was wrong with Welker but it appears that he suffered a concussion. The severity of the injury and his status for week 14 are currently unknown.
Roddy White, WR, ATL – Undisclosed Eye Injury
White left Sunday’s game after suffering an undisclosed injury to his left eye. He later returned to the game and appeared to be OK. It looks like he was just poked in the eye, but we should know more about his week 14 status soon.
Kellen Winslow Jr., TE, CLE – Sprained Ankle
Winslow was taken to the locker room after hurting his ankle on Sunday and he did not return. There is speculation that he has suffered a high ankle sprain and is out for several weeks, but that has not been confirmed.
