This is a brief recap of the injuries occurring during Sunday's games. A complete detailed injury report will be published on Tuesday.
Joseph Addai, RB, IND – Shoulder Soreness
Addai injured his shoulder in the second half and shared carries with Dominic Rhodes for the remainder of the game. It appears that he aggravated a pre-existing problem. The severity of the injury and his status for Week 15 is currently unknown.
Daunte Culpepper, QB, DET – Undisclosed Shoulder Injury
Culpepper injured his shoulder on the last play of Sunday’s game. He left the field holding his arm and he was examined on the sideline and again in the locker room by the team’s medical staff. The severity of the injury and his status for Week 15 is currently unknown.
Kevin Curtis, WR, PHI – Concussion
Curtis was knocked out of Sunday’s game after suffering a concussion in the second quarter and he did not return. The severity of the injury and his status for Week 15 is currently unknown.
Gus Frerotte, QB, MIN – Lower Back Contusion
Frerotte was carted off the field and into the locker room after hurting his lower back in the second quarter. He did not return to the game. Team officials are calling the injury a contusion or bruise, however he was reportedly in a lot of pain in the locker room and there is speculation that the injury is more severe than what the team is reporting. His status for Week 15 is currently unknown.
Frank Gore, RB, SF – Sprained Ankle
Gore sprained his ankle and had to leave Sunday’s game in the third quarter. X-rays in the locker room were negative, but he did not return. There is concern that the injury could keep him out at least one week. We should have an update on his status by Wednesday.
Peyton Hillis, RB, DEN – Severely Strained Hamstring
Hillis will probably miss the remainder of the regular season after severely straining his hamstring during Sunday’s game. Head coach Mike Shanahan said in his post-game press conference that the injury could keep him out 4 – 6 weeks. If the Broncos make the playoffs, Shanahan hopes to have him available then.
Brandon Jacobs, RB, NYG – Undisclosed Knee Injury
Jacobs left Sunday’s game with an undisclosed injury to his left knee. Jacobs sprained the MCL in the same knee a month ago, however the team has not said if aggravated it. The severity of the injury and his status for Week 15 is currently unknown.
Brandon Stokley, WR, DEN – Sprained Ankle
Stokley was injured in the second half of Sunday's game against Kansas City with a suspected sprained ankle. He'll be re-evaluated on Monday to determine the severity of the injury and his playing status for Week 15.
Jason Witten, TE, DAL – Undisclosed Ankle and Chest Injury
Witten left Sunday on two separate occasions, the first time because of an ankle injury and the second time because of a chest injury. He was taken back to the locker room to have the chest injury examined and X-rayed. It’s unclear if he aggravated his previously broken ribs or if he sprained his ankle, but we should know more about his Week 15 status later on in the week.
