IDP Sleepers - Week 15

Welcome to Week 15 of The Huddle’s IDP Sleeper Report.  Hopefully we’ve been able to get you a few lesser-known names to follow week to week.  With the injury bug chomping down on more than a handful of players (and bye weeks upon us) you need to keep your eye on many sleepers, especially on the IDP side.  Feel free to email me if you want to discuss IDP sleepers.  Contact me at huddledarin@yahoo.com.  And without further ado, here’s this week’s sleepers.

LINEBACKERS

Rashad Jeanty (CIN):  Jeanty is getting plenty of opportunities and is making the most of it.  The Bengals face the run-heavy Redskins this week and Jeanty could top 6 solos.

Antonio Pierce (NYG):  If this guy is still somehow on your league’s waiver wire, make sure you go get him pronto.  He’ll be a solid play against the Cowboys this week and a good play in Week 16 against the Panthers.

Other to Consider:  Mike Vrabel (NEP)

DEFENSIVE LINEMEN

Bobby McCray (DE – NOS):   Big game for the Saints.  They’ll have to make things happen on defense to escape with a win.  McCray will need to get to the Bear QB at least once, and he should.  Figure 3-4 solos as well.

Shaun Ellis (DE – NYJ):  Big game for the Jets.  They’re coming off a loss to the Niners and will need to pound their division foes – the Bills - this week .  Ellis had a big Week 14 and should figure big in this one.

Other to Consider:  Ryan Denney (DE – BUF)

DEFENSIVE BACKS

Maurice Leggett (CB – KCC):  This kid is making the most of his opportunities and is putting up nice fantasy stats.  He’ll be a nice start this week against the Bolts.

Kenny Phillips (S – NYG):  The young safety is playing well and will be an important cog in the Giants’ D against the Cowboys this week.

Other to Consider:  Antrel Rolle  (S – ARI)

WEEK 14 REPORT CARD

LINEBACKERS

Bradie James (DAL):  5 solo tackles, 6 assisted tackles, 1 fumble recovery, 1 forced fumble (22 fantasy points)  James followed up his huge, 33-point effort with a solid 22-point effort.  He’ll be a solid LB pick for the remaining games.
Akeem Jordan (PHI):  6 solo tackles, 1 assisted tackle (13 fp)  Decent numbers, especially if you tossed him in as a third fantasy LB.
Kevin Bentley (HOU):  2 solo tackles, 1 assisted tackle (5 fp)  Bentley is no Zach Diles.  Expect inconsistency from Bentley in this spot.
Derrick Brooks (TBB):  2 solo tackles (4 fp)  The Bucs couldn’t tackle anyone last week.

DEFENSIVE LINEMEN

Alex Brown (DE – CHI):   2 solo tackles (4 fp)  The Bear defense has been up and down – mostly down lately – and their IDPs have been super inconsistent.
Shaun Smith (DT – CLE):  2 solo tackles, 3 assisted tackles (5 fp)  We like Smith’s getting in on tackles, but need more.
Mike Montgomery (DE – GBP):  3 solo tackles, 1 assisted tackle, 1 forced fumble (10 fp)  Decent numbers for the Packer.  He’ll put up solid stats against the Jags this week.

DEFENSIVE BACKS

Ronde Barber (CB – TBB):  5 solo tackles, 1 INT, 1 pass defensed (14 fp)  Solid stat line for the veteran.  He’s on a roll and should put up good numbers in his final games this season.
Chris Crocker (S – CIN):  1 assisted tackle (1 fp)  Crocker was coming off three great games but slid back into obscurity.
Randall Gay  (CB – NOS): Zip.  Gay got injured last week.

Note:  Scoring system used for this report – solo tackle (2), assisted tackle (1), sack (3), forced or recovered fumble (3), interception (3) and pass defensed (1).  All players were found on the Site Owners Fantasy Association IDP league waiver wire.
