First Round - The first round has always had starting quarterbacks without exception and players taken in this round always get a shot at being starting quarterbacks. It may not always last long, but they will always get their chance. 2008 proved to be a banner year with tremendous seasons by both Matt Ryan and Joe Flacco. Enough so that expectations may be too high given the far more spotty performances of rookie first rounders in previous seasons. No doubt about it - first round quarterbacks are taken with great expectations. All three from this year could see significant playing time. There is a small chance that all three could be full year starters which would be unprecedented.

Rounds Two through Seven - Previous years served up numerous good quarterbacks deeper in the draft like Marc Bulger and Tom Brady to name but two. But recent years have really seen little more than some opportunistic stretches by Derek Anderson, Kyle Orton, Tyler Thigpen and Matt Cassell. In fantasy terms, it's been rather light since leaving the first round for the last five years.

2009 - There is a decent chance that all three first rounders get playing time this year. Stafford in Detroit with Calvin Johnson holds the most interest. Mark Sanchez is destined to battle the same winter winds that have plagued Eli Manning every year. Josh Freeman in Tampa Bay has a way to go but may end up the starter in a fair weather venue and with weapons like Antonio Bryant and Kellen Winslow.
