In all positions, size does matter to at least some degree. Obviously talent is critical but without the size to play in the NFL - does it really matter how fast a player is or how well he can pass the ball? The intent of these positional reviews is to arm yourself with the conventional wisdom about fantasy positions and typically what is successful. There are always exceptions to every rule, but it is nice to know the rule in the first place. There is a surprising amount of consistency in the measureables of star players.

Height - The average height of the best quarterbacks has actually declined and is led by the shortest of them all - Drew Brees. While Manning has long been considered the perfect size at 6'5", the reality is that is mostly about talent and the system.
Weight - Quarterbacks still weigh between 220 and 230 pounds with few exceptions - like Brees once again who is the lightweight in the group at only 209 pounds.
Age - Both Joe Flacco and Matt Ryan were surprises last year as a rookie and if either can sneak into the top ten they can bring the average down. Age - AKA experience - matter a lot with quarterbacks and only three of the top ten had less than five seasons.

Rookies: There is speculation that the top three drafted players will all get significant playing time this year if not become starters. Stafford and Sanchez are bookends right in the 225 pound range and slightly shorter with 6'2". But Freeman in Tampa Bay was the biggest quarterback at a towering 6'6". Pat White was knocked for his size and expected to convert into a wideout in the NFL but the Fins may use him on special plays. He's almost the same size as Brees though.
