The opportunistic secondary is getting healthy, and the Bears are fully capable of translating turnovers into defensive points.

Nothing major here, just a little concern that some regulars haven't had a lot of reps in the new 3-4 defense and top pick B.J. Raji sprained an ankle in the preseason finale. |

Albert Haynesworth is still healthy (for now), and Brian Orakpo has looked great this preseason. The Redskins were solid last season yet flew largely under the fantasy radar; now their blip is increasing in brightness.

Maybe the adjustment will be tougher on Philly's defense than initially believed; in eight first-half possessions this season they've allowed four 75-yard touchdown drives. Of course, they've seen a couple of pretty good offenses in the Patriots and Colts, but with MLB Stewart Bradley gone for the season there are enough question marks here to bump the Eagles' D down a notch or two. |

It appears that the risk of Minnesota losing the Williams wall for a quarter of the season has been eliminated; thus, they creep back into the top tier of available defenses. If Percy Harvin ever gets onto the field for returns, they may move to the top of the list.

The Giants possess the deepest defensive line rotation in football, and Osi Umenyiori announced he's back from last season's injury with a sack/strip in the preseason opener. This unit is so good they may have trouble getting rookie linebacker Clint Sintim, himself a pass-rushing terror, onto the field. Oh to have those kinds of problems.

Under the heading "Rich Getting Richer", the Patriots acquired a former Pro Bowl pass rusher who happens to be in a contract year in Derrick Burgess. That certainly won't hurt the New England defense, and a few more sacks—plus the uptick in turnovers more quarterback pressure leads to—has the Patriots defensive unit rising up the fantasy draft board.

Gang Green will be without defensive end Shaun Ellis for one game and outside linebacker Calvin Pace for four. They may have enough depth to cover, but it's certainly not an ideal situation for first-year coach Rex Ryan

Julius Peppers is going to stick around, at least for one more year, and that's all the Panthers need to start sneaking back up the fantasy draft board.

The Browns don't appear to have found anyone to pressure the passer, which will make things extremely difficult on the back side of their defense. And it's not as if their offense appears poised to put the opposition in a position of weakness, either.
