09-06-09 |
| The Buccaneers traded off Luke McCown and left Freeman as the #2 in Tampa Bay. With only Leftwich ahead of him, Freeman may get playing time this season to prepare for him taking over in 2010. |
| JaMarcus Russell |
 |
28 |
09-06-09 |
| The Raiders released Jeff Garcia and with that the chance that Russell is replaced for any reason other than injury. |
| Matt Stafford |
 |
23 |
09-04-09 |
| Stafford has clearly played better than Culpepper who is hurt anyway. Expect Stafford to not only start, but to learn the ropes quickly throughout the season. Throwing to Megatron does not hurt. |
| Mark Sanchez |
 |
26 |
08-28-09 |
| The rookie has a terrible schedule and will play in bad weather late in the season. But he looks sharp in preseason games, mostly, and will be the starter in week one. |
| Byron Leftwich |
 |
31 |
08-28-09 |
| It appears clear that Leftwich will be the starter in week one and that you really want to grab all your quarterbacks before 30 of them are gone. |
| Shaun Hill |
 |
23 |
08-25-09 |
| The 49ers have named Hill as the starting quarterback for week one but Alex Smith likely won't challange him again. |
| Vikings QBs |
 |
23 / 36 |
08-19-09 |
| Brett Favre actually signs. That means Tarvaris Jackson has lost every shred of fantasy value while Sage Rosenfels gets to sit and wait for Favre to get injured which seems like a probability now instead of a mere possibility. Favre will get overdrafted in most leagues but to depend on him for more than a deeper backup is optimistic. The Vikings are still run-first and Favre already has a partially torn rotator cuff. |
| Michael Vick |
 |
38 |
08-14-09 |
| Okay. So it was the Eagles. Vick's role is obviously to be determined but he was brought in to compete for the #2 quarterback role that may be vacated by an injured Kevin Kolb anyway. |
| Joe Flacco |
 |
19 |
08-02-09 |
| Mason is back and Flacco looks a little less likely to incur a major sophomore slump. |
| Joe Flacco |
 |
21 |
07-25-09 |
| The apparent retirement of Derrick Mason is not a positive for Flacco who already is facing a brutal schedule. Combine the two and the chance for a sophomore slump rises significantly. |
